This They Changed It, Now It Sucks! entry is being edit warred over. There are apparently two versions, one of which has poorer grammar. Please discuss it here instead of edit warring:

  • While the remake has been well recieved received for being faithful yet visually amazing, the music has not been as well received. The music is very contenous; with some claiming good but many find it takes away from the heavy orchestra, similar to Bloodborne. That being said, the game's original composer, Shunsuke Kida, has remaked on how much loves the newer grandoise take.

The issue with the changes made to this entry is that is now is Justifying Edit. The way is reads now is trying to divert the criticism by using some kind of "Well the composer liked it", which isn't a valid defense in this since this is opinion based. The entry was supposed to be about how the music is the one areas the community seems to mostly think is a step back because of the charm of the original game's music.

Also, saying stuff like "You don't get to decide that" is poor behavior to use to justify editing it since it comes across as Opinion Myopia. The same could be thrown back to you: You don't get to decide that either, it's why we have discussions tabs. I should have done so at first and didn't.

Here is my purposed change: While the remake has been positively received, the music is the one area fans find to be changed for the worse. The music itself is quite good, but the new tracks make the boss fights feel more epic and grandiose in scale, something that players felt took away the charm of the original game's music. A notable example is the Maiden Astraea theme: the original song was memorable for how unique it was in the game compared to the other boss themes, while the remake's version tries to sound epic in scale, robbing the player of the Player Punch the fight is meant to invoke and also causing it to sound similar to the other tracks.

Bumping with the addition of the Anti-Climax Boss with False King Allant.

I think there's nothing wrong with keeping the part of the original composer being a fan of the remake's track as a compromise; the newer edit is fine with that alongside it.

The False King Allant edit should stay out. He's commonly put in the top lists of the most difficult bosses in fan listings.

I disagree with adding the original composer into it since there isn't a reason for it to be included. It doesn't really feel like it belongs since it implies that since the original composer likes it, the fans are wrong. That isn't what is being done I know, but it doesn't really fit into the point.

I think there are other tropes that fit the idea, something similar to Approval of God, though I don't know if that 100% matches the composer liking the new music.

As for Allant, I think he should be removed. He seems to ranked highly for the bosses in overall difficulty for Demon Souls. He just seems easier compared to other bosses in the other games, which isn't fair to him.

Person who added the Allant edit here. I added it not just because Allant is underwhelming as a boss – which can be said of any boss aside from those that provide good spectacle – but because he is anticlimactic. The Adjudicator is entirely underwhelming, but there is no build-up to it aside from the expectation that there will be a boss at the end of its area, so it is not anticlimactic. False King Allant is not only underwhelming as a boss – both absolutely and in comparison to bosses that followed him – but as the conclusion of World 1 for reasons I outlined in my entry. (And to which I can add challenges like the three red-eyed knights before the Penetrator.) The entry provides an argument as to why Allant in particular is an Anti-Climax Boss because of his placement in the game's structure – I could tweak it to make it more explicit – and it should stay.

Another vote against adding the world 1-4 boss for reasons already given, and the simple fact that for the intended player experience he is far above the standard one would need to be to become anticlimatic.

Allant is a fairly tough fight and comparing him to other Souls bosses isn't a valid point. The argument for him being an Anti-Climax Boss you've provided just read as "Well I found him easy", when I've seen discussions that he's a tough fight.

Also, can we have a final say on the OST?
