** Old King Dorans scream. It gets really, really high pitched and loud for no reason then stops abruptly. It sounds like a tropical bird.

* HellIsThatNoise:
** The extremely jarring sound of the Mind Flayer's bell ringing in the otherwise silent world of 3-1.
** The ominous-sounding female voice (that turns out to be the voice of the Former Royal's Wife) that randomly starts wailing from time to time with no warning.
** The Old Hero's roar when the player attacks him. This also acts as a warning - shoot him while he roars, and the results won't be pretty.
** The Fool's Idol's EvilLaugh.
** The background ambience and loud beating of the Old Monk's giant bio-mechanical heart in 3-2.

** The Vanguard that likely killed you in the tutorial returns in 4-1 where he is incapable of moving from his spot, leaving him defenceless against magic and ranged weapons.

** All Pure Ore which are required to fully upgrade a weapon all have at least one corpse or sidequest holding one, guaranteeing that a build can have at least 1 optimal weapon per playthrough except for Pure Bladestone, which is a one-in-two-hundred drop from an extremely dangerous enemy, making both sharp weapons and its trophy a very frustrating experience.

** All Pure Ore which Ores are required to fully upgrade a weapon all have extremely rare drops from DemonicSpiders, but thankfully the developers decided to show a little mercy; there's at least one corpse or sidequest holding one, guaranteeing available near or at the end of each world that'll reward the player with the aforementioned ore. Certainly its an admirable attempt to have this AntiFrustrationFeature guarantee that a build all builds can have at least 1 one optimal weapon per playthrough except for and be spared hours of grinding, with only the curious and sole exception being Pure Bladestone, which is a one-in-two-hundred drop from an extremely dangerous enemy, making both sharp weapons can only be received via farming of the notoriously difficult black phantom Black Skeletons. This unfortunately means that pure Dex builds will either have to stick with less efficient weapons, bite the bullet and its trophy hope they get lucky, or start a very frustrating experience.different build altogether, and makes getting all the trophies in the game a horrible slog.

**** Poison Gas is also very useful in PvP as it cuts all forms of healing in half, and has a near instantaneous cast.

Added DiffLines:

** Second Chance brings the player back to half health if they're killed via an enemy or a status condition. While it doesn't help with BottomlessPits, needless to say it makes PvE a lot more bearable, and also has the handy side effect of preserving a character's human status and leaving the World Tendency untouched.
** Warding is a buff that makes almost all physical attacks on the player deal ScratchDamage. Roughly 70-80 percent of attacks are physical, and can make some bosses an outright joke.
** Firestorm has a huge cast range and will oneshot most enemies and even certain bosses. Its only downsides is that it has an insane mp cost, at least have 18 in Intelligence to accommodate for its high spell slot requirement, and the soul and vendor who grants it are all tucked away in not one but two worlds that are ThatOneLevel.

Added DiffLines:

** Not so much a glitch but more of an oversight lovingly christened by fans as the "Cracked Talisman of Beasts"; the Talisman allows for the casting of both spells and miracles at the cost of having a high stat requirement to get the full power of said spell, meaning unless you have a very specific build it severely restricts offensive magic . . . however it doesn't affect the duration and effects of StatusBuff spells and miracles like Warding and Second Chance, greatly increasing a character's versatility. Its main use however is to abuse the spell Cursed Weapon, which grants a flat 50 percent damage increase on a weapon at the cost of draining the user's hp at a fast rate, except if used by an unmet Talisman of Beasts, in which it drains a grand total of 1 hp per second while keeping the 50% boost. If anything, not meeting the requirements of the stupid thing is far more beneficial in the long run.

Added DiffLines:

** World 1-3. Specifically, the end of the bridge near the boss door, which hosts not one but three Red Eye Knights, which can be that one mini-boss to melee builds.

** The Old Monk has a gimmick that can qualify him as one. He [[spoiler: summons another player in the same level range who is attempting to co-op or invade in any block of Latria. The player gets a boosted health pool, full access to healing items and spells, spirit form advantages like higher damage and Foe's Ring, all of their equipment sans their headpiece, and some boss-only advantages like an automatic, infinite-use homing soulmass attack. If you're unlucky, he'll summon an experienced player who will probably proceed to wipe you out unless you have some competent co-op buddies. In the case that Old Monk doesn't summon another player, though, he'll just be a glorified black phantom NPC who isn't particularly powerful or smart.]]

** World 2-2 is one of those areas where having the right gear can help quite a bit, but it still offers a duo of [=NPC=] Black Phantoms set up to ambush and slaughter the unwary, hard-to-kill giant insect enemies, treasures that are placed on narrow ledges over deadly pits and in lava, tight corridors that are hard to fight in, highly damaging explosives, and tops it all off with a maze of tunnels. The level's one mercy, that there's a shortcut to the boss almost at the start, still involves having to very carefully jump down from platform to platform or else plummet to your death. Even the fact that this is probably the most generous stage in the game when it comes to finding loot can be a big problem, since there's so much of it and you're saddled with an item carry limit, unless your character has a high item carry limit or you use the Ring of Herculean Strength.
