I read on tumblr that each of the turtles body types was supposed to reflect different types of high school athletes, but they didn't explain which ones which, so my question is A) is there any truth to this, and B) Which turtle corresponds to which sport (My money's on Donnie being some running sport, but for the others I'm stumped)

Which tumblr was that?

I know this is going to be out of place but I'm writing a fanfic called 'In the Shadows' and it's going to be a AU where the Kraangs invasion is finish and the new villains arrive (which is my OC).

BTW can you give the link of that Tumblr photo cause I want to see.:3

I've seen more than one fan just assume that the ninja turtles are named Hamato Leo, Hamato Donatello, etc.

The name is never used once in relation to the turtles and even Hamato Yoshi himself now goes by the name Splinter. This seems like somes serious fan wank on the assumptions here.
02:29:38 PM Nov 17th 2013
I mean consider, Splinter named his boys after Italian Renaissance artists. He's not exactly big on tradition here.

I believe it's simply popular fanon. I see no problem with it, personally.

Comic Vine lists Hamato as the last name for all the turtles and they are (usually) a pretty reliable source. I'll have to check it out further, but I think they have used the Hamato surname in the comics at least, if not for the entire franchise.

So, how long is the "April hating the turtles" thing going to last, and how will it impact the love triangle between her, Donnie, and Casey?
02:25:18 PM Nov 17th 2013
Hopefully it will result in April not devolving into a sick depraved relationship with a turtle. Its one thing to treat them like people, which they are, its another thing for April to get intimate with a mutant turtle. Maybe if she was an adult I'd feel differently about this.

Whoa there. 1. Treating someone like a person implies acknowledges they are sentient beings with complex emotions, including a desire for romance. That doesn't mean they have to ACT on those desires. Nor does it mean that whatever they did (kissing, hugging, etc.) would be sick or depraved.

2. Even if Donnie and April 'had a relationship' that doesn't automatically mean they would be intimate.

3. So your objections are not based on fears of an Interspecies Romance but a disdain for under-aged sex?

Jeezum. I'm not a big fan of Apriltello because it doesn't seem as if April returns Donnie's feelings. You can think something is unlikely to become canon without disparaging the idea for being depraved.

is it just me, or is this series giving Don alot more character focus than usual?

Definitely. Though not necessarily a bad thing.

The Furry Confusion involved with Spike could also be a case of Fridge Brilliance, as it's similar to the boy with a pet monkey.

It seems like complaints/issues some viewers have with how Raphael is depicted in this incarnation of the TMNT are cropping up a -lot- on the main page, many of them repeating the same information. Can these be consolidated? It's starting to border on natter.

Can the Broken Aesop entry be clarified a little? I think I know the episode/incident it's referring to, but it's fairly vague as currently written.

I'm considering starting a Quotes page...but am afraid I'd end up quoting most of the wonderfully written dialogue creating a bizarre sort of shrine to the writers. I'm also concerned about spoiling the viewing experience for tropers just tuning in. On the other hand, I love reading quotes, and I'm sure I'm not the only troper who does. Basically, "Must not spoil, but can't stop gushing, but must not spoil, but can't stop gushing...." Thunk. sidenote

Thoughts? Opinions? Should I make a page? Should there be guide-lines? Does any one care?

I think you should. It's really fresh dialogue,as you said, and I think the writers deserve a little shine.

I'm not sure if There Was a Door is the right trope about ninjas entering into scene through walls instead of... windows (like the turtles did before) which still makes more sense, so I just ask here.
05:44:02 PM Dec 15th 2012
There Was a Door seems perfectly applicable here.

Can I get a vote or something on whether Turtle Temper is a Nice Job Breaking It, Hero instance: I see right now this is becoming an edit war, I'd like a clear call on it one way or another. I can see how one episode wouldn't necessarily make someone a designated hero, but given that the Turtles spend the whole episode making a bad situation worse while being allegedly heroic, I'm pretty sure it's a clearcut case of NJBIH. Thoughts?

Do you think this page needs a separate Characters sheet from that of the main franchise, at least for the new characters (Snakeweed, Miwa, etc.)? And also maybe for tropes unique to this cartoon's interpretation of the characters (Leo's pseudo-Trekkieness, the Kraangs in general as opposed to the Utroms or 80's Krang, etc.).
02:13:27 PM Oct 12th 2012
Let's wait for more episodes to come out before we to decide on that.

I question the Expressive Mask Trope used here, as all their wearing is basically a bandana with eye holes. This leaves plenty of room for facial expressions.
03:09:47 PM Oct 8th 2012
Their masks are expressive in that they move like eyebrows and also close like eyelids. The trope stays.
