Are we sure we want to use the trope Vanilla Protagonist for Charlie? I just remain slightly unconvinced it's the best fit for her.
Edited by powerofone65 Hide / Show RepliesThe example in question, from YMMV.Hazbin Hotel:
- Vanilla Protagonist: Charlie is sweet and good natured but can come across as dull and one-note compared to the other characters, particularly compared to Angel Dust’s self-destructive spiraling or Alastor’s status as a Hidden Agenda Villain.
I don't see it either. She's silly and cartoonishly expressive and energetic, not exactly "plain" or "mild", which is what Vanilla Protagonist is supposed to be. This comes across more as expressing a preference for darker/angstier characters. It was also written just after the first four episodes dropped, so couldn't have taken into account any of her later development.
Gonna remove it, citing this thread. ETA: done.
Edited by TwiddlerYeah, Charlie doesn't count. The fandom loves her and finds her adorkable and endearing, not boring.

Vanilla Protags are meant to bounce off of other more interesting characters to help make them more interesting, Charlie is the other way around.
A possibility of a Dramatic Irony as the concept of a battle between Heaven and Hell has been done before, but this is the first time where Heaven is the invaders.
We should work at editing, or removing, tropes and comments that source interviews, Word of God, and the like, now that the show is out it can speak for itself.
Hide / Show RepliesI second Rezkel's proposal. If there comics, then that should probably be its own page.
On another small note the current page contains the line
"In life, Angel Dust was an addict who overdosed on the drug he's named for in 1947, resulting in his death."
I'm a little unclear how this can be the case, since PCP- the drug known as Angel Dust...wasn't even invented until 1956.
Thirding. Most the tropes should be from the show itself.
