Internet standards for "celebrity" aren't those of more traditional media.

Like him or not (I'm indifferent, mostly looked here out of curiosity), he is fairly well known on parts of the internet where many tropers can be found.

I don't know. He does have a Wikipedia page, while that might not mean much; I think they are at least sticklers for notability.

I'm not sure I understand the assumption that only celebrities should be interviewed. In my opinion, people who do interesting work should be interviewed, to draw more attention to the stuff they're doing. It has less to do with who he is and more to do with what he does.

This guy is freaking awesome. I have both his movies.

I also have quite a few of the movies he's bashed. You know, a lot of them are pretty tolerable if you just promise your suspension of disbelief two weeks off at Christmas and turn off your brain.

But not Ferngully 2. Never that.
