Why was the following added:

  • "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: As Ashley lampshaded, Hannah really should’ve known better than to run into the dangerous, cold wilderness. This imbecilic decision is what really kicked off the game's events, and it all could've been avoided if she just hadn’t stupidly overreacted to a prank.

Reason is "Brought over from YMMV page". That's a description, not a reason as to why it was moved.

The idea of running out of a lodge containing all her "friends", including her crush, who were just shown playing an extremely mean-spirited prank on her, seems like a highly probable reaction of someone subjected to fresh emotional trauma.

Saying it's highly imbecilic seems like victim-blaming the subject of bullying, and has a vindictive tone that appears oddly out of place.

Not to mention that the entire plot could also have been avoided by plenty of other reasons: NOT playing the prank on Hannah in the first place, by Josh NOT calling everyone back etc etc.

The game's based off poking fun at old horror movie cliches, where there were plenty of moments where But Thou Must! is in effect to move the plot forward, and all those moments could qualify for "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot , so why is this entirely reasonable reaction highlighted?

Edit: Removed the suggestion to move it back to the YMMV page as per Super Sonic Heroes.

I don't think it should be put in YMMV at all since it isn't a YMMV trope. If it isn't a good example it should just be deleted.

Makes sense.

I'll wait a while to see if anyone has any other arguments for keeping it, and delete it if nobody else has anything to add.

Is that foreshadowing as well when Sam mentions she doesn't want to see lodge in fire when looking for the source of noise in the basement with Josh?

Do the Dr. Hill sessions count as What the Hell, Player? moments? I'm thinking of how he calls the player's style "self-indulgant" and criticizes the player for how they play the game.

Why was Flamethrower Guy's grandfather on the mountain? FG's motive for being there is pretty clear after you hear that Makkapitew killed his grandfather, but why was gramps on the mountain anyway? Was he one of the trapped miners that didn't partake in his dead coworkers or was he already a wendigo hunter?

Something minor's bugging me - are the characters' D.o.B.s on the wiki official? I can't find a source, and I ask because the birth years provided for most of the characters don't add up with their ages on the date the game takes place (e.x., if Josh is 20 on 02/02/2015 and has a May birthday, he would've had to be born in 1994, not 1995), but I won't assume it's a case of Writers Cannot Do Math without knowing.
