Funny, I think they actually made Magus a bit easier in the DS remake...they made it more clear when he was going to use Dark Matter...
I suggest separating the tropes into folders. Otherwise, the page is very long.
Am I awake or do I dream? The strangest pictures I have seen. From the Desperation Attack line: "One of the treasures gained from Robo's sidequest is the Crisis Arm, which has a similar effect listed. However, a glitch means that the weapon only reads the last digit of Robo's HP, meaning it does the same damage at 999 HP as at 9 HP."
On the DS version, it says "Damage based on last digit of HP", so is it really a glitch (or an Ascended Glitch)?
- Shoot the Shaggy Dog: Some fans believe that the game's sequel, Chrono Cross, retroactively does this to Chrono Trigger.
Removed stuff about looting the Omen multiple times. Unless you're talking about Charming stuff from Zeal, you cannot do this. Is it logical? Yes. Can it be done? No.
You can RUN the Omen three times. But the treasure boxes will not be refilled and the bosses (except Zeal) will still be gone, despite that making no sense. This is, in fact, an instance of the Dev Team failing to think of everything.
The following entry relating to this game is on Prison Episode:
- Chrono Trigger had one sequence in a prison cell. It followed a very humorous scene and preceded a challenging boss though and thus was better than most. It is especially interesting because the prison lets you keep your sword.
- There are two prison sequences in Chrono Trigger. The second one strips the party of equipment, inventory, and cash after the party is distracted by a Look Behind You. Ensues a Stealth-Based Mission unless Ayla is in the current party.
Now, bear in mind that Prison Episode is defined as a prison-centered installment of a series not otherwise about prison; I haven't played the game, but this strikes me as more along the lines of a level. In that trope's discussion page, on the other hand, battosaijoe claimed that a level should count if it makes up a significant enough portion of the gameplay, and kjnoren claimed to have looked through the video game section, removing the more obvious non-examples.
In any case, would you say it qualifies?
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartThe "Claremont Coefficent" entry explaining who the Entity is. I do not believe it was ever clearly stated who or what it was in the original version. It was merely speculation on the party's part as to the identity, but never outright gave a name or anything. Now the sequel or remake MAY have changed that (which given the rather forced connection the remakes made, wouldn't surprise me), but it isn't in the original. If it is in the remake, a note should be made.
Also the "Death World" entry.. I'm going to assume this is a feature in the remake? Because it clearly isn't the case in the original at all. I used to leave my characters standing around on the map all the time when I was little while I listened to the music, went to the bathroom, etc.
Hide / Show RepliesYeah, I agree with the Claremont Coefficient.
Not certain about the second, however.
I added a note on "Prime directive" it just seems notable in chrono trigger by its ABSENCE and thus seems to be an averted trope.
as the "dont mess with history" bit has become ubitoquos.
High level cap- the trope says you can bet it at level 60, I feel like bragging as I did it before reaching level 40
