I cut this...

That is totally not how Badass Normal works. Yes, I get that they're called "normal" monsters, but that's irrelevant. The trope is about normal humans without super powers who manage to be badass anyway. Dragons, werewolves, and immortal black mages do NOT count, even if the game refers to them as "normal."

The character list leaves out the Junk archetype, which I find surprising given their prominence in the 5Ds series.

"Thunder King Rai-Oh. It can Tribute itself to negate a Special Summon, shutting down XYZs and Synchros" Isn't this inaccurate, because XYZs and Synchros are treated as their own kinds of Summons, not Special Summons, so cannot be negated by Thunder King?

Probably a tad late but, no, Thunder King still negates them. Anything summoned from the Extra deck is still 'Special Summoned' regardless of it was a fusion/synchro/xyz summon.

Does it bug anyone else that the game's been complicated so many times that the appeal of it's relative simplicity is gone?

There are still archetype that emulate the old style of beating each other with increasingly big monsters. The Monarch archetype comes to mind.

Alright, why do all the tabs at the top link to the show now? I remember the card game having its own special tabs!

That's because the card game was moved to TabletopGame.Yu Gi Oh.
