The page was previously flagged for Five P review with the rationale: and the disposition was: keep

I have a couple criticisms for this trope. One, I don't think feats of perversion in a game should count as an example of this trope if said feats are only possible through modding the game in question. Secondly, some of the examples listed involve things like incest, pedophilia, and bestiality. I feel like that shit would fall under depraved more than perverted.

Is it really a trope if it involves player's input?

Would this be an accurate alternative laconic description?

  • People are dicks, especially when they can change one or more aspects of a video game.

Thus speaks the Omega Metroid! ...Or something like that.

Request to change "Toady One's masterwork adamantine banhammer" in the Dwarf Fortress entry to "Masterwork steel banhammer" because in-game adamantine is about the density of styrofoam and it makes terrible hammers.

I'd like to propose that this be split into two separate pages, Videogame Vulgarity Potential and Videogame Perversity Potential. Even the quote uses an example of vulgarity, not perversity, and 80% of the examples fall under it too. The only reason that I don't just say that we change the name is because some examples actually are perverted. Plus, I think this wiki needs more pages, so that it's just that much easier for TV Tropes to Ruin Your Life.

This may be nitpicking, but shouldn't this trope be called "Videogame Perversion Potential"? "Perversity" is an entirely different concept.

Yeah, I agree. It would fit tropes with similar names too, like Power Perversion Potential and the like.
