In Heroes, Niki Sanders manifests the consciousness of her dead, older sister, Jessica Sanders, and gains super strength when she does so. Jessica died protecting her sister from their abusive father and continues to protect her, even if she uses violent and sociopathic means to do so. It was never made clear weather this was actually two minds in the same body (Though 'Jessica' seems to think so) or just regular old Multiple Personality Disorder.

This may be too literal to count, but in My Brother's Keeper by Charles Sheffield, two brothers (one a concert pianist, the other a state department spy) are in an arranged accident. Surgeons save the pianist by grafting in pieces of his brother's brain. Occasionally he will get an idea, clue or warning (usually in the form of music) from his dead brother's brain. Um, yeah.

Thad Beaumont absorbs his twin sibling in the womb but only partially, leading to the sibling needing to be surgically removed from Thad's brain and killed. The spirit of the dead sibling causes him to write dark novels and leads him to fame and success. Later in life, when Thad decides to stop writing the sibling (twin) manifests as a real person with identical fingerprints to Thad and naturally begins killing people. They also share a telepathic link that seems to allow each to experience the pain and thoughts of the other, like Occlumency.

Not to mention the anime Basilisk, where the Big Bad of the group apparently absorbed his twin brother. His brother is still alive, so to speak, as a monstrous symbiote who gives his brother immense regeneration in return for surviving freakishly. This also counts as squick, since said symbiote is only able to speak through his brother's ripped throat.
