I'm sorry, but is Ace Attorney honestly the best example that there is to plaster all over this trope page? For what it's worth, and while baring in mind that this is somewhat subjective, the entire thing is more an exaggerated fandom meme, then it is an actual full on example. As has been discussed on the franchise's headscratchers page, the franchise actually contains minimal direct references to Japanese culture, and Japanese culture is hardly ever an actual relevant issue. Besides from the fact that this exaggerated joke about the Ace Attorney localization is pretty strongly associated with the series, I really don't see why it's acting as the poster boy for it. Something like Yo-kai Watch would be a much better fit, given any crap you can actually fling at it regarding how thinly veiled it's dub country change is is completely unexaggerated. And the entire franchise is literally based around Japanese culture.

And I've edited it, to included better examples. The Ace Attorney image was an exaggerated meme. The one I replaced it with is an actual in game moment that perfectly demonstrates an actual glaring issue that can arise from this kind of thing occurring. The quote too, is a bit less opinionated, and a bit more general, I feel. It also covers a wider area to do with the topic at hand.

Yeah, I don't know why this got reverted, and why you got banned for this either. When you told me that, I was like "seriously"? I made an account just to see and sort this mess out myself. I can only fathom that it's some sort of butthurt Ace Attorney fans, or something, because banning someone from both editing & P Ms for doing something like that is ridiculous, given there's no "do not change this image/quote" warning whatsoever.

Yes, because declaring anyone who disagrees with you as "butthurt" is the surest way to prove you're in the right.

Anyhoo, I think the biggest issue stems from the fact these were a ton of changes done unilaterally with no discussion. Which is usually not too bad, but it's also changing an image which needs to go through Image Pickin. It comes across as Righting Great Wrongs which is frowned upon. Secondly, even if the source example-in-question isn't accurate, the fact that the webcomic that's the current image is a great illustration renders that irrelevant.

And the suggested replacement was just plain garbage. Which is kind of the reason that large, unilateral changes without discussion are a problem.

So... What's the difference between this and Cultural Translation, exactly? The two share the same main examples (heck, even referencing the same webcomic) and quite a few entries in common. Over on that page it seems this version is described more as a failed attempt, but the actual content doesn't really seem to reflect that. On this page, the other one is described as "when things get edited to fit more into the dubbed countries cultural," whatever exactly that means.

I went ahead and opened a TRS entry for it, which is still closed at present.
