The "Real Life" entry on the main page smells strongly of an Urban Legend to me... there are just way too many Fridge Logic bits to it. I'm going to remove it and put it in the discussion page for now. If anyone can find evidence backing it up, feel free to return it to the main page, but unsubstantiated and probably-false rumors don't belong in the "Real Life" category.

- Several cultures reportedly have sex as a primary part of a manhood ritual. One particularly brutal variant this troper has heard was one of the New Guinean Tribes. Every boy who would turn a certain age that year would be put into a room with one girl. They decided who would go in order having sex with her until they got to the last male. Then after they both have orgasmed they would drop a large rock crushing both of them.
I have seen in media a few times where a dad arranges for his son to have sex to turn him into a man. often simply taking his son to have sex with a prostitute.
