I feel that the current Real Life section of this page clashes with the rest of the page. The trope is for Humongous Mecha treated as realistic military hardware, while the entire content of the Real Life folder is examples of remote-controlled and smart weapons. Certainly real, certainly robots, certainly military hardware, but not the same thing as the rest of the page is talking about.

This text was inserted instead of the previous one in an apparently unilateral change. Please discuss here before putting back.

The distinguishing trait between Real Robots and Super Robots is whether the mech is seen as a super hero or a tool. That's literally all there is to it. Friggin Zeta Gundam has its sword extended via "willpower".

The expression originally came from "Real Robot Line", a term used by Sunrise in the 80s to promote their Gundam and Gundam-like animes during the decade. It became popularized in the West thanks to Super Robot Wars using Real Robot and Super Robot as a gameplay mechanic.

I don't think there's any reason to add that back. It's a massive oversimplification of the definition of "real robot genre," and the tone is not quite what I like to see in the main text of a page.
