I thought about doing this with the Mouse King, along with A Kind of One, making him a species of mouse that's literally called "Mouse King", but I decided against that. However I am planning to make him a One-Winged Angel that becomes an eight-headed Animalistic Abomination, like his form in the novel.
Would the higher-ranked monsters from various Kamen Rider series count? i.e. the Sonozaki Dopants from W, the Greeed from OOO, the Horoscopes from Fourze, etc.?
Edited by Gusindor I swear that made perfect sense in my head. The trope explanation is not clear over whether the definition of a monster lord means that the monster lord in question is of the same type or species of the monsters it lords over. For instance, a number of the examples given are for one species of monster being superior to another species, but I got the impression that the monster lord was supposed to be a superior specimen of the same breed.
Hide / Show RepliesI think it's less about the biological relationship (especially since many works of fiction use inaccurate meanings of "species") and more about the power relationship of one monster ruling over other monsters.

Does Leaderaur from Gravity Falls qualify? Or is he more of a King Mook? I know he's definitely Large and in Charge.
