I saw this page when it had a image and image discussion, but I didn't have anything to add.
Anyway, I think the last panel illustrates it, because it displays the "alice is straight and wants bob but bob is gay and doesn't want alice" well.

I wouldn't say this is the case...while it is especially uncommon (fanfic more often than not being a vehicle for peoples' ship desires), saying it does not exist feels more like a Take That! to slash fic more than a statement of fact. Should it be changed to say that it is very rare, and explain why?

Agreed, especially considering that there's a fanfiction example on the page.
I've seen so-hoooo much Angst fanfic centered around this trope. I myself have written some. I'm pretty sure whoever added this comment has only knows about fanfic second-hand, or only reads erotic things.
Example sounds more like Aigis having some Gayngst then it being an issue of Incompatible Orientation.
