Seven years late, but it's now locked.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'd like to create a writing help section on avoiding Unfortunate Implications and on handling tropes with care. (Sort of a writing checklist, kind of like the old Mary Sue checklist, except of far more value in detecting racist, homophobic, and sexist UI especially) Where would I go on here to do that and would there be a way to link it in here?
? Hide / Show RepliesYou'd probably put that under So You Want To... and this page isn't locked so you'd just edit in a wick.
Okay, I think we've gotten a bit out of control irt adding new tropes to this page. A lot of the stuff I don't think fits this index very well.
Hide / Show RepliesWhile a few tropes should be removed, I think the main problem is with how the examples are written. many tropes that should stay on teh index are presented in a needlessly whiny tone.
I'll work on cleanup to present as neutral of a tone as possible. No snark, no humor, just a clean, neutral presentation of how the trope could be offensive.
