For it to count as this trope, does wanting the character to be single always have to necessarily be due to Perverse Sexual Lust? Does it still count as this if the audience wants the character to be single for other reasons?

I honestly think there's a good way to pull off this trope. Say for instance, if your Author Avatar offers to pair off a character you dislike but aren't willing to kill. You know, if it's one of those fanfics.

Does anyone else think we should change the name of either this or 'Dry Docked Ship?" The similar names makes it seem like they're somehow related, but, besides both being about shipping, they really aren't. I can't think of any alternate names, though.
