Not sure what the Death Note examples have to do with the trope.
Hide / Show RepliesThey don't seem to fit the trope, to me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanDoes anyone else think that this trope can be related to the You Are Too Late trope?
In a certain way, in both tropes the villain makes sure his Monologuing has little to no effect on the outcome. In this trope, villain leaves no witnesses to talk about the plan - no witnesses he knows of. In the aforementioned trope, the villain has already set plans in motion so telling about them is just as likely to buy time for them to complete, give hints to the heroes on how to stop them, or just plain give the villain satisfaction of proper Monologuing without repercussions.
Found a good image perhaps, it's one warlord (Daala) killing all of the others to unite The Remnant as seen here"

The trope description seems to contradict itself, can someone clarify?
"It must be noted that the villain doesn't necessarily need to kill every meeting-attendant. "
"This is only for when ALL of the audience dies. Thrown from the Zeppelin is when traitors are killed."
