Call me a prude, but rape isn't funny; It shouldn't be something people joke about, especially considering how it affects people in real life. Rape is rape, and it shouldn't be funny. Just my opinion.
Hide / Show RepliesAs a victim or rape and sexual assault perpetrated by 2 different individuals and two different times, I find your "humor" to be completely despicable. I hope that you, in your lifetime, gain a sense of the enormous emotional damage it does to a victim, and how long a victim can carry this damage around. I hope you come to grips as to how many of us survivors suffer from PTSD and related symptoms. I hope you at some point find a modicum of empathy and retract your statements. I can't think of any circumstance under which rape is funny.
As someone who's also been raped, I can sometimes find it comforting. Jokes that aren't born from ignorance or malice but to reduce the horribleness of things like rape, suicide, abortion etc., are one of the best kinds of comedy.
I cut up one dozen new men and you will die somewhat, again and again.Very close to my hometown, a person was raped. I find it extremly disturbing. But if done right, a few jokes can still be funny. I saw a show where the main character got into a prison and almost got raped. What made it funny as hell, was the following:
1. Large ham. 2. Ominous Pipe Organ. 3. Gag penis. 4. Shadow Discretion Shot. 5. Fading to black.
Other people who had seen the show also found it to be the funniest part of the episode.
Edited by ScaresteamI understand the 'machines' section (robots, A.I.s and so forth), but isn't raping an inanimate, non-sentient object (like the pool table example) really more, well, masturbation than rape?
Hide / Show RepliesI think it can count as black comedy "rape" if the character who does it perceives it that way, that is, if he imagines the non-sentient object to be sentient and/or animate or admittedly does it to humiliate the owner of the object.
It is different from masturbation in that the pleasure is derived from humiliating someone, even if it's only in the mind of the "rapist".
Edited by GowanSome of the examples derive their funnyness not from the rape (which never is funny, in my opinion) but from the schadenfreude one feels when a (would-be) rapist is punished.
I am not sure whether this still counts as Black Comedy Rape.
I dont think the black butler example fits, Sebastian corrupted that nun sure but he didn't physically force it on her.
Why was rape as comedy rename black comedy rape? Wouldnt rape and comedy already indicate dark humor on it?
Hide / Show RepliesAll of the rape tropes whose names could be mistaken for condoning it, such as "Rape is Love", were renamed as part of an emergency clean-up in response to Google pulling Ad Sense. It was felt that Black Comedy Rape made it more clear that the wiki was not condoning rape.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Whether you consider black comedy rape as completely tasteless or not, the trope exists and so therefore should be present on this website.
In the Harry Potter fanfic A Black Comedy, there's a point at which Remus Lupin, thoroughly drunk, gets directed to a room in which sleeps Bellatrix Black, who has previously expressed the desire to have children by any suitable man she could find. Cut to next scene, with no intervening detail, and Lupin is just kinda hazily waking up to the fact that he's just had sex with her twice (apparently amenable to the sex but not so much to who he's with) and is in the process of the third go at it when he puts the facts together and has an Oh, Crap! moment.
The Rape as Comedy part comes particularly from the following exchange (as she's still riding him):
- Bellatrix: I don't know why everybody hates me so much around here.Lupin: You're raping me, right now.Bellatrix: Don't be so dramatic. Besides, do you even want me to stop 'raping' you?Lupin: I'm a little conflicted on that point.
...and it goes on for a few lines before he manages to really come to his senses, break physical contact, and try to figure out what's going on. Oh, and another couple lines:
- You're after my sperm!
and
- She already used dark magic on our rapebaby!
...anyway, does this count? And if so, could someone put it in the right place? There doesn't appear to be a fanfic section under "girl rapes boy" yet.
Edited by Kilyle Only the curious have, if they live, a tale worth telling at all. Hide / Show RepliesI've realized something that makes this trope, along with Rape Is Funny When Its Male On Male and Rape Is Okay When Its Female On Male, "work", or at least "acceptable". The humor of watching characters raped is directly proportional to their jerkassery. The bigger the Jerkass they are, the funnier their rape is.

Does anyone else find this article's description almost indecipherable? I think things that should have been multiple sentences were instead typed as one extremely long confusing sentence & you really don't wanna be confusing when talking about black comedy rape.
