I have reasons to think that the recomendation for Oblivion by Gabriel Seraph is a self-recomendation, because the series of fics has almost no reviews, its page, Oblivion, is edited by only one editor. It should have to do an IP analysis, but it's just a suspect, I may be wrong.

My work is here. Current main fic: Tengen Toppa Gurren Solvernia Hide / Show Replies

Suspicious, but it might just be a case of one very, very dedicated fan.

I know I do a similar thing for a semi-obscure webcomic. I've sent Dark Literati here and Gabriel Seraph on FF.net messages about it.

Edit: Response received on here; they're not the same person, so the rec is fine.

Edit much later: Response received on FF.net too; again, not the same.

Edited by Telcontar That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

Hey. so I need help. I'd like to recommend a fic, but I'm not entirely certain if it should count as a romance or a general fic. The fic is about traveling the worlds just like canon, fighting, and saving lives, as well as intrigue, and detailed backstories. However, romance does play a substantial part of the fic. So should it be general or shipping?

The fic in question is here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4221353/1/

Okay, the clean-up has begun. I've decided that translating the commentary into reviews just isn't possible, as the comments switch between discussion, one-liners and incredibly in-depth analyses that I wouldn't be able to do justice to in 400 words or less. I do plan to contact as many of the posters as left signed commentary and invite them to post new reviews.

I've moved a lot of stories to the new "Yaoi and Yuri" section. The stories in there are ones that I believe focus on homosexual romance above all other aspects of the story. Despite my initial instinct to delete the stories that involve relationships between Nobodies, I eventually left them alone after stripping out the commentary and moving them as appropriate.

Which leads me to my last notice: I've deleted several stories entirely. Some of these were deleted for reasons of good taste (high school A Us), some were deleted for content (links to explicit content have landed TV Tropes in trouble before), and some because I'd read them and disagreed with the recommendation. This last group is the one I'm most unsure of. If you've read the stories in question and disagree with the deletion of a recommendation, please let me know. I am in no way trying to be an authority on KH fanfiction, or a jerk. I would like to improvement the quality of the recommendations on offer.

Also—and this is kind of embarrassing—I'm pretty sure that I accidentally deleted some other stories. While moving things around through copy/paste I would occasionally stop to fix another issue and delete what was in my clipboard. I managed to catch myself a few times, but that means there were other times I did not. Please let me know where I made these mistakes.

Thanks to everyone who's posted recommendations on this page! I hope this makes future additions easier to manage.

Dude, you do not delete stories because of personal preference. If someone recommends them, that's good enough for us, and we need a considerable majority of dissenting opinion before we consider nuking them. Yes, this includes stuff like high-school AUs - some people like 'em, or can be persuaded to like 'em if the writing's good enough. Furthermore, lemon-fics are perfectly acceptable on this site provided that they are mentioned as being such in the tags. We have a lot of them on other pages.

This is not your personal list of recommendations. This is a resource for a variety of readers with a variety of tastes, and if you don't like a fic, you link a review explaining why.

Would anyone be opposed to splitting/reorganizing the page a bit? Even with the current categories, it's pretty long and difficult to read. Anyone have any ideas?

Bit belated, but yeah, this page needs some work. Natter needs to be zapped and a few more categories should be added—yaoi, for example. I don't think that it needs much more; I'll try and take care of it over the weekend.

Also needs the comments stripped out and reviews code inserted instead. As per the main index page. Substantive comments need to be copied over to the reviews once the code is inserted. One or two liners can just be zapped.

Got it. I'll see about clarifying/shortening some of the commentary while I'm at it.

Anything else? Say... more fic recommendations? =D

EDIT: Yikes, there is a lot of recommended Yaoi. 90% of it will be moved from where it is.

I haven't read Fill the Moon, but do anti-recommendations really belong here?

Yes, though comments as a whole are now supposed to be converted to linked reviews. See the Neon Genesis Evangelion page for how it works.

What about anti-anti-recommendations that insult the person who made the anti-recommendation? Because a friend of the author's started off reasonably, but then told Gelgoogle to "shut up" before going off on a tangent about how the story is supposedly "better" than the games they were based on.

Yeah, that shit doesn't fly. No personal attacks allowed on the wiki.

Otherwise, though, the general rule of thumb is to add those sorts of responses as comments on the appropriate linked review.

Anybody opposed to "Pain in the axel" and the (as yet unfinished) sequel, Dyme and the Dozen, by Dragonnova on deviantart? I can vouch for its humor, but I'm not very good at making the synopsis, etc...

I was hoping to recommend a story called "The Keyblade War" by a fanfic writer called laredotornado. However, he seems to have deleted it from his ff.net account completely. I think this was a pretty good fanfic, and I'm curious if anyone knows why it disappeared.

I should probably think of something witty to write here.

Hey all, I've got a request: anyone know of Kingdom Hearts stories that follow the same vein as the games? You know, action/adventure, Disney characters, humor? Something along the lines of "Those Who Lack Hearts". I've read/tried to read most of the stories on the list and there's so much AU and so little KH.

Thanks ahead of time.

Thinks Too Much: Removed a fanfic that was on here due to being So Bad, It's Good, because I'm pretty sure this page is for stories that are good in their own right. I could be wrong, so I'm posting the description here.

Immortality In Fickle Affection. by Tekki and Vejiita4eva (gorn, slash, explicit - something...)

  • Recommended by Sean Tucker
  • Pairing: Cloud/Hercules
  • Synopsis: Immortality In Fickle Affection. I know it's Squick beyond belief, but it manages to be utterly hilarious due to how ridiculously over-the-top it is. Be warned, graphic Gorn, slash, and penis kooshballs. (I couldn't possibly make this shit up.)
  • Comments: The MST/Sporking is far more hilarious, with pop culture references abound and plenty of Kingdom Hearts in-jokes. Also less terrifying.
