None of the characters specifically said anything but in both cases you've got people from Nations on the opposite side of a war. Ursa didn't tell anyone she was Fire Nation but when they find out, no one really cares.

The trope is now known as Maligned Mixed Marriage. Was the couple's interrracial relationship looked down upon in-universe?
