How shall Family Guy's loss affect Toonami in 2021? And in 2023 with Bob's Burgers?
Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness. Hide / Show RepliesDepends on whether Toonami can find good enough anime to broadcast.
Okay, question. Why are the TIEs considered Recaps and just regulated on that page? Yeah they cover the events but shouldn't they be important enough to at least be on the main page too, so folks can find the links to them?
Any news on Attack on Titan season 3? I heard it's premiering in late July, but I don't remember the details and m thus hesitant to put anything down.
Hopefully I'll feel confident to change my avatar off this scumbag soon. Apologies to any scumbags I insulted. Why is every page referencing the new season of Samurai Jack, including this one, saying the show will premiere in 2017? Jason DeMarco said that there's currently no set premiere date, and the guy who announced the March 2017 premiere date has since deleted the post he made it on.
I'm not saying that the show won't premiere in 2017, but until we get an official announcement about the premiere date, let's not rule out late 2016.
Edited by Chris This is not the greatest signature in the world, no... this is just a tribute. After a lot of example misuse in the subpages, it has been decided by ATT that there will be a purge of all "this show left the block and I'm sad"/meta examples, and we will only catalog tropes pertaining to the Toonami continuity (the intruder, etc.) and anything that happens between the shows with TOM and Sara. Basically, only tropes pertaining to the block itself.
It's also been suggested, that we change the namespace to Western Animation to make it clear that only the animated Toonami segments are tropeable. I think that's a good idea. What does everyone else think?
Souleye - PPPPPP - Potential for Anything 3DS FC: 2621-3105-8671 Hide / Show RepliesAs the person who initially suggested the move to Western Animation, I agree with the move.
Rocks fall, everyone miraculously survives.So...After Saturday can we move Hellsing IX and Summer Wars to the recap page?
I've created a recap page for the history of the programming lineup. There is just no reason to have to scroll through all that or even collapse the folders just to get to the tropes.
Should we add a Characters section for the TOM versions, SARA, the Clydes, and whot not?
After someone requested that TOM 5.0 be included into the lineup, Wackd went ahead and did just that. The first one wasn't bad. The second "More compact" version suffered hideous artifacting and just looked bad. No offense, Wackd. I don't think you did anything wrong, but the first attempt was in my opinion, better.
I reverted it back for two reasons:
1: So we can have a proper Image Picking thread to decide which should be used in the future.
2. Lets wait until TOM 5.0 is officially part of the storyline before we include him.
Edited by DRCEQ Hide / Show RepliesThose are both fair points! I'm fine with it.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Should we really be adding films shown by Toonami to the list? I mean, if we're gonna do that, that list is gonna get way too long way too fast, and it's largely irrelevant to the block on the whole given that they're one-shot deals anyway.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. Hide / Show RepliesUnless Toonami plans on airing a movie for every week for the rest of the year, I doubt the list would grow that fast.
Yes, but just consider how many movies were aired for the first eleven years. If we're counting 1.1 we should be counting all of them, shouldn't we?
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. Some of them HAD to be reruns. Like Pokemon The First Movie
Don't make me destroy you. @ Castle SeriesIf you want to list all those previously shown movies in the era that they were filmed in, be my guest. But for the meantime, 1.1 is going to air, so it will be part of the current Toonami.
Divided the shows up by era as best I could with aid from Wikipedia's bizarrely cohesive list of schedule changes. If I left something off, please re-add it in the right section, rather than just reverting the list. The original copy will be in the history if you need to find an attached note.
Edited by Wackd Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. Hide / Show RepliesIt may be deleted since this isn't an encyclopedia, but I'm impressed by the work you put into this. It sure as hell won't be me complaining about that.
Don't make me destroy you. @ Castle SeriesThe page has always indexed the shows that have been on it, only now it is just slightly differently organized. I have no problems with it.
ReBoot... This show was so old by the time I started watching it. I believe it was on its last legs, I can't remember (I was born in 1993)... I was so young. No one could remember it when I explained it to them. I couldn't remember the characters, the plot, the graphic quality, almost nothing. Ever try to think of something and can't? How it kills you and you can do nothing about it? I had this feeling every time I thought of this show. That was probably ten years or longer. So long I started to think the whole thing was just dreams I had that bits I remembered were just part of multiple dreams I had with the same characters. Maybe I did dream about the show, I don't know... But TV tropes helped me to rediscover by simply looking through the Toonami list. I just clicked on shows whose names I couldn't remember. It felt so good to find ReBoot... TV Trope may ruin your life but sometimes, it just brings so much cheer into my life.
It would be a mistake to take the list off any ways. T,T [D
Don't make me destroy you. @ Castle SeriesHilariously, Hamtaro was one of my favorite block shows. It was just so cute! And I'm a straight dude! Haha!
Don't make me destroy you. @ Castle Series Hide / Show RepliesOh, okay. I'm really bi-sexual, but I didn't know that at the time.
Don't make me destroy you. @ Castle SeriesTOM!! One of the only people would can act more "hardcore" by suddenly developing a taste for swear words and still making himself sound cool. You would think he would sound like a poser, but nope. Precision B Strike ftw.
Don't make me destroy you. @ Castle SeriesI'm pretty sure that Retcon does not apply to Toonami, and needs to be removed. It was never stated in the first place that all the TO Ms were the same person. It was only assumed that they were because we never saw any other one existing at the same time. Furthermore, someone else already added a contradictory statement equivalent to Word of God, so the entry needs to be fixed up to reflect that instead. I'm not sure what trope that would fit under though.
Can we all agree to please stop adding Cowboy Bebop to Anyone Can Die? And perhaps put in one of those edit-text only messages about it?
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. Hide / Show RepliesI agree. Besides, I don't even think that it's a correct use of the trope itself.
GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEADS, PEOPLE! JUST BECAUSE A SERIES THAT HAS BEEN RUNNING NON-STOP FOR THE LAST 3 OR 4 YEARS IS REMOVED FROM THE LINEUP DOES NOT MEAN IT WILL NEVER RETURN. IT HAS BEEN TAKEN OFF THE SCHEDULE NUMEROUS TIMES IN THE PAST, YET YOU NEVER HEARD ANYONE CRYING THAT THE SKY WAS FALLING BACK THEN.
^ CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL. YOU'RE JUST EXUDING COOLNESS, MAN. YOU'RE SO COOL, I'M NAMING MY BABIES AFTER YOU.
Anyhoo, I don't think it's been adding more than a few times, but yeah. I'll add an edit note in a bit if no objections show up here.
^ Please, take this to heart: I rarely ever have any reason to "YELL" on the internet. The whole caps lock thing, I was very aware of when I typed that message. It's just become so annoying that everyone thinks the world is going to end and another part of their precious childhood has forever been brought to an end just because CB had been taken off the schedule. I mean, this is a serious Face Palm inducing level of over-reacting.
Edited by DRCEQAnd of course the reason cited was "the budget", when in fact it would've been cheaper to keep Bebop around than to pick up Eureka Seven to replace it.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Well, I added an edit note saying not to readd that as an Anyone Can Die example. If anyone has any objections, feel free to post them here.
I think you should elaborate a little. Say that the trope should only be applied if it directly relates to Toonami's own storyline and characters. Since this trope was being applied to one of the series that it used to show, it would be more appropriate to put it on Cowboy Bebop's page instead.
.... Don't do that, please. The trope still wouldn't apply.
It seems to be checked out by someone now. I'll come back later and elaborate if I remember; feel free to edit it yourself if you want, too.
Bebop will be back on the schedule on October 6. Definitely doesn't count for "Anyone Can Die".
^ It never did in the first place. It would be misuse since it doesn't apply to Toonami's own story. I've never heard of Anyone Can Die being applied to TV program scheduling...
I'm thinking we should trim down the introduction at the top of the page. As much of a storied history that the block has, I don't think it needs 3-4 paragraphs to scroll through just to get to the schedule.
