This bit of info from the page seems a bit unnecessary and a little bit too much finger-point-y: "He is also conservative, and has spoken out against gay marriage, but not gay rights as a whole.note Specifically that gay couples should be able to legally have all the same rights as straight couples without needing to get married, and that marriage should remain a religious concept only."

It's been a pretty major part of his image these last few years, and since I'm not overly familiar with his recent works and can't tell if his views are given voice in his works, I didn't want to axe the mention completely. Maybe we can shrink the mention a bit more; There's precedent for mentioning stuff like this on the Orson Scott Card page. Overall, though, I'm thinking we might need to ask a mod if this is relevant at all.

The quote at the beginning of the page seems unnecessarily insulting. The description doesn't signify that he's famous for being an ass, so the quote just seems like a biased insult. I'm personally for removing the quote and having a quoteless page, but it's not just up to me. Anyone care to defend the usage of the quote?
