Could you be more specific? Friendly Target is the most general trope on the subject I can think of.
What I'm looking for usually goes something like this:
Say the Big Bad wants the MacGuffin, so he hatches a plan to steal it, but the Big Damn Hero intervenes and puts the MacGuffin in a safe place where the Big Bad can't get it. So the Big Bad kidnaps the Hero's spouse/parents/children and will return them safe and sound in exchange for the MacGuffin.
Are there any pages covering the deliberate endangerment of the hero's children/spouse/parents by a villain character to achieve their own ends?
