To my knowadge neither Fanfic.net or AO 3 list rankings, so I'm gonna guess they either came from some obscure archive we can't call credible or right out of the editors rectum.
Maybe the "rankings" are in number of hits or reviews.
In that case, it would need better wording, but would be allowed to stay on the page.

^^ No, even with better wording it wouldn't be allowed to stay on the page. As Fighteer already mentioned we don't list ratings/rankings for works.
Hi, Was reading the trope page of 'This Bites' by the Cross-Brain Group (Xomniac, CV 12 Hornet and The Patient One) and it was mentioned that 'This Bites' is the number 1 rated One piece fic, the number rated Self-Insert fic and the number 9 (or 7) fic overall on Fanfiction.net. Was wondering if you could send me a link to the source page you got your statistics from?
