Must be a purist who did the edit. I don't think it really matters, but 9 thousand is more known thanks to Memetic Mutation (Even if is an annoying one, at that)

Hi! On the trope page for Power Levels, way back in November, a troper changed the page quote from saying "over nine thousand" to "over eight thousand", apparently to reflect the original Japanese (although The Stinger at the bottom still says "9000"). Is this change okay? I thought it was weird but I wasn't sure how much it mattered. Only thing I know is that "over nine thousand" is one of those big memes, haha.
