Well there is Descriptively-Named Species and Fantastic Slurs
By "less systematic" I suppose I meant "applying to individuals," not species.
You could probably use Known Only by Their Nickname for that.
My name is Freezer and my anti-drug is porn.Maybe. The book (Star Wars Kenobi) shows the perspectives of both sides, though. Orrin and Ben have names, it's just that A'Yark doesn't know them, so she calls them "the Smiling One" and "Hairy Face." They're Known Only by Their Nickname only when A'Yark is the viewpoint character, and only until she learns their actual names. By the same token, A'Yark is called "Plug-Eye" when she's not the viewpoint character, until Ben learns her name.
Edited by HeraldAlberichI think The Nicknamer is all that fits, but there should be a trope for this. There's a character in K that does this, and ends up with several variations of "glasses".
When you don't know your enemies' names, and might not even speak their language, you might come up with nicknames based on their attributes, just so you have something to call them. Hairy Face for a bearded man, the Smiling One for another. Similar to Reporting Names, but less systematic. Anything fit better than The Nicknamer?
