You should be over at You Know, That Thing Where.
I think you're thinking about "faith without religion" more than "religion without faith." It looks like you're describing Unitarian Universalism.
No, no, I am technically in Soviet Russia, but that doesn't mean you can pull a reversal on me.
Look: so you are in a setting. There's Zeus, you've personally seen him, but there'a a religion that worships him. It's like Religion Is Right but there the religion came first, and here the god came first,

Graaaaaa.
Listen. Religion implies faith, right? At least, in our world it is so, because we don't know whether gods exist or not. It's even commonly believed that, if gods show up, it will cause a problem to religions, because there can't be a religion without faith. In all realistic settings it's pretty much so.
But in THIS setting there IS a god, everyone KNOWS god exists, and there is a religion where people worship the aforementioned god. Religion based on knowledge, not on belief. Capisce?
(Oh and having a Physical God does not automatically mean this trope is in action)
Edited by Aminatep I will consume not only your flesh, but your very soul.Closest I can think of is Cargo Cult (worshipping an object that appears to have powers, except in this case it actually does).
Erm. Combed several commonly-known works' pages, no indication. How Could We Miss This One. I'ma go YKTTW.
I will consume not only your flesh, but your very soul.
What's the trope for a religion without faith? Like, there's a Physical God, everyone knows he exists, nobody needs to believe in anything, they just pretty much ask him for favors personally.
I cannot believe we missed that. It's ridiculously popular.
