Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

I am by no means an expert or authority, but I can tell you that this is the right place for such questions. As for the actual answer to your question, my intuition tells me that the best course of action is to make a space for them on your contributor page.
Incidentally, I'm in a similar situation; a close friend of mine has an unpublished work that I would love to trope. If we don't get advice from a more experienced troper, I will probably do something similar to what I suggested above.
Sometimes seen with a "526" after my name. The standard practice is to put pages for not-yet existing works in the Darth Wiki/ namespace. You can put a description and trope list on that page, but do not list the work as an example on the actual trope pages themselves (ie. If you use Five-Man Band in Your Work, you would list it on the Your Work page, but not on the Five-Man Band page until the work is available to the wiki-reading public in some way).
See any of the pages in the "Unpublished Works" folder of Troper Works for examples.
Now Bloggier than ever before!Ah, thanks.
Thanks!

I've been wondering for some time: what's the policy for tropes for unpublished works? Specifically, I've written a fair amount of things (comics, original works, Original Flavor fanfiction), but I've never put any of it up anywhere, either because I don't think it's very good or it was only ever for my own enjoyment.
On the one hand, since coming to this site I've been finding any number of tropes in what I've written. On the other hand, it's hard to think of anything more arrogant then being an entry pimp for my own work, especially when I've never let anyone else see it. And that's not even mentioning Subjective Tropes...
Is there somewhere on Troper Tales for this sort of thing? Should I just not put any of this up?
Edit: Also, is this the right place to post questions like this?
