Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
You can ask for the page and its subpages to be moved in this forum thread.
Edit: Fixed a typo.
Edited by GastonRabbit Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. Thanks for pointing me here. I might wait to get this done as Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea is used in one of the Japanese trailers in Latin script, and I don't know if there's a rule saying the page has to be on the American title.
We use the most recent English translation for works originally in other languages, including titles. Troping Works Created in Other Languages covers how we handle this, including what to do if there's more than one English translation (if different English-speaking countries received different translations and/or if a work was given a new translation in a country that received a previous translation).
Edited by GastonRabbit Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Good to know. That does mean Ponyo should be its name then.
That being said, the forum you linked mentions that the wicks, indexes, and custom title are still the responsibility of the person requesting the move. I don't know if I will be able to handle all the wicks myself, so I would still appreciate if there were a way for someone to do it for me (assuming the rules on that forum haven't changed since then).
Edited by SparkPlugTheTroperBest way to get assistance would probably be adding it to Wick Cleaning Projects for additional visibility.
I don't actually have any Bumblebee icons, I just think the nickname is funny.Thank your for your suggestion.
I think I have a solution worked out; hopefully those pages and the wicks should be moved in no time.
I noticed the page for Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea goes by a translation of the film's Japanese name, when in English it's known as just Ponyo. TV Tropes has a policy of going by a work's official English name whenever possible. The normal solution would of course be to manually change everything myself, but I don't know if I'll have the time or resources to do everything. Is it possible to tell a moderator to do this for me? Thanks in advance.
I should also mention the film has a bunch of subpages that go by Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea and need changing as well.
