Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

It's not gendered as far as I see and neither is Sexy Soaked Shirt, so Gender-Inverted Trope is not applicable.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupThanks for the reply; guess I'll be editing that out of the Playing With page now.
they/she; editor of Minecraft SMPsHonestly, the assertion that Wet T-Shirt Contest is "unisex" is a stretch. The whole point of your typical Wet T-Shirt Contest is to show off women in wet shirts. Wet T Shirt Contests with male contestants are usually Played for Laughs.
The problem with the application of Always Female or Gender-Inverted Trope to Wet T-Shirt Contest is rather that Wet T-Shirt Contest is not a character trope at all. (As You Know, Always Female defines itself as "an index of character archetypes that are female at least 90% of the time.")
Edited by LordGro Let's just say and leave it at that.Huh, I seeā¦ I'm just really confused right now, because I see a good chunk of examples on the page that are about men (and from what I can recall, aren't all Played for Laughs). It's in that really weird grey area in that I'm now also questioning if the media I consume is just a bit more queer than most.
Also, there's a lot of indices that fall under Always Female, but then tropes listed in those indices may have male characters listed in them, which brings to question exactly what defines the scope of Always Female and Always Male trope, which I think might be the bigger question here (of which this is just an example of).
they/she; editor of Minecraft SMPsExamples don't define the definition. Nothing in Wet T-Shirt Contest says it's not unisex, so unless the description is rewritten it has no limitations.
This also may be more fitting for Trope Talk.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupFair enough, I'm not really in the mood for further discussion right now, so I'll take this to Trope Talk if I decide to go in-depth about this in the future.
they/she; editor of Minecraft SMPsThis was already a question for Trope Talk and not ATT, so locking.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.
The description of the main Wet T-Shirt Contest trope page doesn't list it as a gendered trope. However, the Playing With page for Wet T-Shirt Contest has a Gender-Inverted entry that lists men being in the contest, suggesting that the trope is Always Female, and some examples have followed suit (I think) by listing male examples as "inverted".
I've been reviewing a potential discussed example and would like to ask for clarification for whether the trope is gendered, especially since its Super-Trope of Sexy Soaked Shirt is unisex; it's because if the trope is unisex, then I think the Playing With page and the examples that follow its listing conventions should be edited to reflect that.
