Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Bump, because I still have concerns:
- I'll be upfront. Their wonk is over E3. They dragged it into our PM discussion even though I made no indication that I cared about the situation (I hadn't even known about it). They also added a diatribe about it on their troper's page. Both of these came during their suspension for wonking (including pinging random tropers to the discussion).
- Despite being asked multiple times to not edit the TLP drafts of other tropers, they're continuing to do so. And they're sloppy about it; that paragraph about Catwoman's originality was a criticism I made of the draft, so I can't understand why they added it. here they're adding examples to an active sponsor's draft, which is not allowed because the sponsor's job includes vetting what goes on thr draft.
I'll grant that they did make an effort to start properly removing Evil Is Sexy wicks, but what concerns me is their general sloppiness and stubbornness. Whether it's dropping a subject or following TLP rules after being directly asked, they don't seem to fully get it.
Edited by WarJay77 Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessWarning posted on the recent draft. For the Evil Is Sexy problem, sending a message... You can ping them to the cleanup at TRS as well.
...and now they're just being overly aggressive and nasty about the state of a draft, making rude comments about the draft and the sponsor even as people try to calm things down. I hollered one of the comments but it's getting ridiculous.
Edit: Oh, and they're back to adding examples to the draft despite the warning.
Edited by WarJay77 Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI was wondering who've edited the draft without asking and found someone familiar. It's minor, but still isn't a grammar correction.
Edited by Amonimus TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupIf I can chip in, I did directly message them last night letting them know that they shouldn't be editing other peoples' TLP drafts without permission. They responded by the morning tersely, which I can at least interpret as them acknowledging that folks have been telling them to stop making such edits. The fact they're still not taking the hint especially after all their previous hostility (and especially after JUST getting unsuspended) is definitely cause for concern, ngl
(also wow that's a lot of thumbs-ups)

I know that Absolute Rainbow is already forum suspended, but I have concerns with their handling of the Evil Is Sexy cleanup as well. While I appreciate anyone who wants to join in on TRS cleanup, they're doing it in a really sloppy way. I just had a long back and forth over PM with them because they made the mistake of not moving a Sexy Villains, Chaste Heroes wick off of a YMMV page. They eventually decided to put it back as Evil Is Sexy and then hide it, after which I finally managed to convince them to just delete the thing... On one page, anyway, as on another they kept the hidden EvilIsSexy wick up. They seem to have a weird aversion with the idea of deleting these examples, which leads to other issues such as them replacing things with These Tropes Are Evil and Sexy (the index), hiding other examples, and generally misusing Sexy Villains, Chaste Heroes even when heroes aren't mentioned in the example... among other issues.
It seems like in general they have an issue with rushing into things and not fully understanding the rules. It's what caused their TLP ban a while ago, and I noticed them breaking the rules of The Pantheon Thread when I was there discussing wick cleanup last night. I know I could just send a notifier or something for some of the other sloppy edits, but it was hard enough just getting them to delete one single misused example and I find it difficult to get them to slow down and do these things correctly. I also allow mods to read the recent PM exchange, since I don't know how much else I can say, except that they also appear to be wonking about a specific subject a lot.
