Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

There's no formal policy beyond "don't be excessive."
That being said, this certainly qualifies as excessive. If we want to talk about their abilities/attacks/whatnot, we can do so in the trope part of their folder.
(They do have tropes, right? Given the state of some of these types of pages...)
Someone else went through and commented out all the characters that didn't have at least one trope. I’ve been meaning to check the remaining ones for shoehorns and ZC Es (because there are definitely both in abundance) but I'd like to cut what's there down as much as possible first, since I'll probably do the full check in my sandbox.
That said, a lot of the existing examples namedrop the abilities, in bold, and oftentimes in a way that doesn’t have anything to do with what those abilities actually do, ie the following listing from an Iron Man entry:
- Power Palms: His trademark Repulsor Blast is what defines him as Iron Man.
bump just to see if I can get more opinions in before I start chopping.
A smile better suits a heroYeah, I'd say most of that stuff can be cut. Affiliations can be worth keeping if they're relevant to gameplay or the game's story.
The story barely exists (there's a short campaign and a series of rotating playable storylines... one of my post-clipping goals is to add applicable tropes from those) but the affiliations are relevant to gameplay

So remember a while back when I talked about Marvel Puzzle Quest being an absolute mess? I'm taking another sweep at tidying it up, and although the character folders often only have 1-3 tropes, I think they've got too much information otherwise. For example, here's the information listed for the X-Man Angel:
Angel (All-New X-Men)
(please note the character description, like every other one on the page, was removed for being plagiarized)
While I can see an argument for keeping the affiliation listing, I don't think the cover used for an in-game image or the list of each character's moves needs to be there (and honestly I'd be fine chopping the affiliation too). However, I recognize that it would be a pretty major change, I don't know if there's any policy covering this, and thus I'd like to get a yes or no from y'all.
