MacFarlane's problem from what I can tell is that he's gotten really complacent with his TV work and is just going through the motions to collect paychecks. When he actually steps up and puts some actual effort into his work (ie, Ted), he does much better.

He hosted the premiere of SNL, and nailed it. Not only was he hilarious, but there was no grossout humour.

He was really good in Hellboy II as well. I think he should have stuck more with just voice acting.

Seth is great at directing for live-action, humor, hosting, and singing. The problem? He decided to movie into the animation neighborhood! >:

And I'm pretty sure he doesn't even write for Family Guy anymore.

I thought Ted was alright, but not great. Fun, but not the best.

Seth is fine. it's the other family guy writers that suck!

Seth is a good comparison to make to Adam Sandler. Both are geniuses in their own way, great guys personally.

They're also cynics. Resigned to the fact that crass entertainers make the most money in our culture.

The real artists are stuck with cult popularity. And people who do work for a living are reviled.

So why not happily sell out?

The problem is they're so rich that they're blind to the destruction of their own legacy. Sandler will be remembered for his fratboy comedies, not Punch Drunk Love. Seth will be remembered as the weaselly television equivalent of Ebaum's World, not a suave throwback to the swing era.

Don't watch Family Guy, don't care to. Same goes for any of his shows.

To be fair, many remember Seth for his outstanding writing on Cartoon Network's early shows. And Adam Sandler's early movies, as aforementioned, are pretty well-liked by most people.

While I think he can be funny, and know his role writing the show isn't necessarily that big anymore, some of the racist humor in Family Guy has made me kind of uncomfortable with Seth Mac Farlane.

I don't know if Adam Sandler and Seth Mac Farlane actually used to be funny or if it was because I was ten years old...

I like to believe that Genndy Tartakovsky beat up Adam Sandler or threatened his life between takes during the production of Hotel Transylvania to ensure he wouldn't screw up his film. I'm happier believing that than actually imagining that Genndy genuinely enjoyed any moment he was around Sandler.

Um...guys? Not to be novice moderator or anything but there’s a time and a place for Adam Sandler/Family Guy bashing. The time is any time but the place...not here.

About Angry Joe's Top 10 controversies, I found his reaction to Bayonetta2's Wii U exclusivity to be, well, a grievous OVERreaction. I thought it was a dishonourable mention at best. I mean he had a top 10 list without it.

I guess I now know why they call him Angry Joe, though.

You really weren't around for the initial reveal, were you? A good majority of Bayonetta's fanbase exploded in outrage not unlike how Joe portrayed it.

Yeah, that was a very stupid week.

To be brutally honest, I was a bit too smug for my own liking when that was revealed.

Honestly, I don't see the big deal about it. There are plenty of games that have console-specific sequels. "What if I don't wanna buy <insert console name here>?!??" Well, tough, you don't get to play it then. Or go over a friend's house who DOES have that console; I'm sure you have friends who play video games.

people who complained about Bayonetta 2 were kinda laughably dumb. "Oh no, Nintendo gets one of the beloved new M rated HD games for once, how dare they!"

It was on the list entirely for being controversial and not for being valid on any level.

This does make me regret not being on the internet seeing Sony fanboys when 360 was taking away all their exclusives. It must have been hilarious.

I don't normally watch his videos, so I couldn't say.

What really makes the reaction to it being a Wii U exclusive stupid is the fact that it simply wouldn't exist otherwise. So those who complain about it might as well be saying that they'd rather have gotten nothing than had a sequel on the Wii U.

And if you'd watched his list, you'd know that he said exactly as much, noting that the controversy died down enough for it to slip out of public eye after that was announced.
