Victory sounds are often memorable. One particularly good one is Robotnik's anguished scream of defeat when you beat him in Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine.
I like the *beep, pwoosh* sound of medkits in Half Life 2. It sounds so satisfying c:
No, I absolutely never forget my password. And I never have a suspiciously specific denial. When a match-three game has a chime that increases in pitch with each part of a combo, then hits a point where it doesn't go up any further and you just keep getting that one high-pitched ding because your combo keeps going...... Ahhhhh.
But soft! What rock through yonder window breaks? It is a brick! And Juliet is out cold. That one sound in Banjo Kazooie that plays when you get something right is the fucking best.
The "You've Got Some Shiiiiit" treasure jingle in Legend of Zelda.
i. hear. a. sound. For some reason I really like the little click and sparkly-sounding-sound treasure chests make in Kingdom Hearts games.
^ Ever since watching that video I mentally say it everytime I hear the tune. :)
That's why I put it that way. (For those going "what video?", here it is.)
But soft! What rock through yonder window breaks? It is a brick! And Juliet is out cold.I'm not much of a video game person, but "OBJECTION!" for me.
Oh, and speaking of "to the tune of"... "Latia! Recieved the! _____ Badge!!!"

Not really a sound effect so to speak, but the sound when you step on the warp tiles in Link to the Past was the coolest sound I had heard when I first heard it. And then Nintendo screwed it up in the GBA version. (it almost melted my ears off!)
Also the Neo Geo CD startup tune is pretty cool. Whoooossshhhh! Glong!

You can not go to Utah again after you have eaten Utah and have not eaten.I thought you meant the normal NEO-GEO startup screen:

But soft! What rock through yonder window breaks? It is a brick! And Juliet is out cold.I like that one too, but the NGCD one is my favorite.
You can not go to Utah again after you have eaten Utah and have not eaten.SEEEEEEEEEEGAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
The Transformers changing-sound. Fuck. Yes.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!This charging/firing laser sound effect from Sonic And Knuckles. It shows up in nearly every level of that game.
I don't think that the actual "OBJECTION!"s in Ace Attorney qualify as a MWS for me, instead it's the silence signifying that your objection was correct.
...Level-up noises are usually my favorite. The drum-beat in Fallout 3, the little "Chwing!" of FFVII, and the "Dootdoo dootdoo!" evolution chime of Pokemon are particularly noteable. ^^b
But somehow,◊In other words, the portal gun is a goldmine of wonderful sounds.

Sometimes there's a sound in a video game that I can't help but like. Some of them are the usual, like level up sounds (like in Mass Effect 1 and World Of Warcraft) and victory chimes (Mass Effect 2, various Final Fantasies).
And then there are sounds that I like that some people find scary, but I don't, like noises by the geth, the Human-Reaper, and the gas zombies from Dead Rising 2. I don't know why, but I think they just sound cool.
