Yeah, I thought I made it clear myself. My understanding from the MH twitter is that if you already have the beta downloaded from the first run, you're all set for the second run.

thanks to the felyne carver hi skill i managed to get 2 azure rathalos tails in a row. useful skill. shame its not fixed. just need 1 more tail, one more ruby, and then i can finish the armor set.

in other news, i decided to go back to rank 9 and finish off a quest i ignored; take out the high rank tigrex before i try to take out the brute tigrex n all that.

im now fairly certain im not ready for the brute tigrex.

I have given up on trying to complete that Bonus Code Black quest. At least until one day I somehow get to have an axe with 1600+ damage. It's the only way, I believe, that I can defeat Akantor solo in such a reduced time limit (20 min). The fact that the next quest in that sidestory is about killing Ukanlos in just 15 discourages me even more.

PC release of Monster Hunter World planned for autumn this year, free content updates confirmed.

A livestream just ended with a good deal of news, some of it has people skeptical but... on the whole, I like what I'm hearing. To sum things up...

• Two new monsters, and one of 'em is real freaky-looking. Both are seen in the trailer.
• Teostra and Kushala Daora are back! Likewise, both are seen in the trailer.
• A third beta's going to run from January 19th to the 22nd! It's also going to add a fourth quest, tasking you to hunt a Harder Than Hard version of Nergigante on a strict 15-minute time limit.
• Log-in bonuses!
• Quests are still capped at four hunters at a time, but the Gathering Hall can house 16 players. Expect a lot of shadowboxing and arm wrestling.
• There's a ton of merchandise collabs but the only one that seems to have any in-game content is one with Universal Studios Japan, to promote their Monster Hunter-themed ride.
• Attacking mounted monsters helps topple them quicker, now.
• Apparently Key Quests are no longer a thing, and unlocking new content is strictly tied to story progress.
• The first DLC Monster is... Deviljho!

That last bit of news is the one that has people worried, in light of the leaked monster lists. Every returning monster was on that list, so should it be real then the leak of 35 total monsters also included DLC quests, some of which we won't see for months.

Damn, beat me to posting it.

So what if some of the monsters on the leaked list (which I didn't know about) are DLC? They're gonna be free, right? I'm okay with them pacing out content, I still expect there'll be enough at launch to keep me going, at least. It's probably only going to be a problem if you blast through the game, and to my mind, that's your problem.

Yeah I don't see the problem with the dlcs. 4U's were working similarly and even though i did rushed through the game and got G3 in a month or so, I still enjoyed booting the gamed twice in a month to do some new content.

While it's cool to see Teostra, I've got to ask: where's Lunastra?

No kidding. When was the last time Lunastra showed up, anyway? I started with 4U, so I’ve never had the chance to fight her.

To be fair she was only a very slightly different Teostra, so it's not like you're missing much.

That said they could diversify her moveset a tad and make her into a totally unique monster.

I figured the two of them weren't that different, but I'd still like to see Lunastra. What can I say? I like blue dragons.

Lunastra could really see an overhaul in fighting style, behavior, etc. Speaking of which, it's strange that they've never explored the existence of an Elder Dragon couple. Like, we never see Elder Dragon Eggs or anything of the sort...

Edit: Yes, Gaoren could also return, given that its fight used to be a bit more interesting than Lao's sometimes.

We don't see elder dragon eggs in the main series. Monster Hunter Stories, however, has elder dragon eggs that you can steal and hatch.

Exactly. They could introduce something of the sort in the main series. I mean, make them have some sort of interaction or whatever, since now we're having multiple Elder Dragons at the same time.

Maybe we could even have an ultimate egg quest with both dragons possibly chasing after you, who knows

Anyone have any luck with Nergigante in the beta?

To me it didn't feel like it was an impossible fight and I seemed to be doing damage but the 15 minute time limit and only getting 5 continues put it outside my skill level. I may end up caving and having to resort to multiplayer for this one.

Nerg is kicking my ass, but I'll try some things later on. i thought we were stuck to the usual 3-cart count this time, though.

I've killed him with a long sword and a time of 10 minutes 42 seconds. He's solo able but I'd advice fighting him in multiplayer till you learn his moves. Also if you do solo him I'd advice wearing everything that boosts attack and wear a gem for evasion (I heard his attack frames are pretty bat). One major advice I can give for him is if you see him going airborne sheath that weapon and do a running man cause that attack can one shot you.

Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2

Just barely managed it in time in multiplayer; landed the killing blow with ~1:30 left in the hunt and ~45 minutes left in the beta.

All in all I soloed the first 3 quests and only had to resort to multiplayer for Nerg so I'd say I didn't do too bad for the fist MH game I've played in 10-15 years.
