Monster Hunter

Stories launches October 8 in Japan with 3 Monster Hunter amiibos. The anime also premieres in October.

Box art is great, and the game is still one of the best looking on the 3DS.

Nice to see some new info on Stories. Also nice to see that the Brachydios and Kirin are in this game.

Apart from that, nice to know this behind-the-scenes stuff and that they try their damndest hard to keep a high-quality localization. I'm still salty about changing some names, though. :(

So does anyone know a good replacement for g rank red khezu armor? I'm perfectly fine with my seregios g-rank horn but that armor is causing me problems...

You know, if you need the ears, mutilating them prooobably isn't the best idea? Wrecks the thing you're trying to get.

Which is a weird thing for the whole "Break monster bits, get something from that part" mechanic in general.

From a gameplay perspective, it makes sense; it encourages players to attack certain parts of a monster, taking risks to get the rare parts (though it's not always guaranteed; damn you Alatreon for being stingy with your horns). From an in-game perspective...well, cutting off the tail should get you a tail, even if somehow you get two tails from carving a single tail...

Yeah, best not to think about it too much, I guess.

Admittedly yes, the breaking that actually cuts stuff off makes sense. The breaking that just breaks or wrecks something...less so.

i actually never thought normal ears were hard. they're pretty easy.

its the + ears im having trouble with. currently going through guild quests until i get to rank 4 so i can get a higher chance at getting the ears

...although ash ketchum ears sound worrying.

after slaving away in harvest moon, i decided that i should get back to monster hunter 4 ultimate & slave away killing huge beasties. unfortunately it may take me a bit to un-rust & get into the game again... UGH. ://

thing is that because mhg is coming out fairly soon, i'm just expecting a sharp drop in activity in mh4u. i can totally afford the game, but i don't want to leave 4U sitting there collecting dust and not at least finish G3... and i'm still on G1, but i'm not sure what to do.

I'm just recently G2, I'd be happy to slap a few G1 beasties around with you.

The G1 rank chapter was monstrously long (32 quests.... and I'm not counting the Advanced ones X_x). G2 almost has nothing for itself since G1 already grabbed numerous monsters that were formerly 5-star targets (Volvidon, Barioth, Nibelsnarf, Duramboros, even a Ceadeus subspecies), and all 4-star targets.

I'm three Diabloses into grinding for Diablos X armor now. The game has decided to give me only Twisted Stouthorns instead of the Hardhorns I need.

I wish to die.

I'm sure the Diablos will be enthusiastically eager to fulfill that request.

i really need to get off of my lazy ass and actually progress thru G1 and G2, but... i'm too lazy.
