Another game where the main hook is irrelevant, and your choices don't ultimately matter, huh?
Where have I heard that one before?

I just started the game and all I can really say is Renya>>>>>Shin.

Btw, what's everyone opinion of Criminal Girls and htoL#NiQ?
Wait firefly game actually came out?
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Late February, yeah. Haven't tried it myself (plan to eventually), but Burnspy and several other reports seem to find it a bit clunky.
Also, there was a grand total of one person here who voiced any real intention of getting CG (let alone NISA edition), and that was months ago.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guySomeone on GameFAQs posted the D5 main characters' Weapon Mastery. We have:
Killia: Fists and Swords
Seraphina: Bows and Guns
Usalia: Monster weapons (both ATK and INT types)
Red Magnus: Spears and Axes
Christo: Staves
Zeroken: Fists

Seeing as Monster weapons only differ in what stats they power up, is it necessary to specify she can use both? Every monster can use both to the same effect (though some benefit slightly more with one type than others)
Also, multiple fist users? A far cry from D4, where Fenrich was your only fist guy for like 90% of the game, including generics.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Yeah, my report on The Firefly Diary read like an angry internet rant more than anything else.
I intend to wait for a good PSN discount to grab Criminal Girls.
Well, both physical and magical monster weapons have their own weapon mastery bars in D5. This could mean that certain monsters may be more proficient in one monster weapon than the other.
That makes no sense, since Monster skills have been always set by Monster, not by weapon.
Unless they are changing it up so every monster gets STR and INT based moves (how many of each depending on their mastery level), it seems like just kinda redundant.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.The only thing I'll say about Htol Niq is that by the end of the game, Mion might make an interesting Disgaea DLC character.
The real end of the game, anyway.
Maybe they're just doing it to even out the damage aspect of weapon mastery?
Why did they feel it was a good idea to add weapon mastery back into the game? I thought everyone hated it.
Hopefully they'll also bring back Cheat Shop, to mitigate the grinding.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.I don't see them ever axing the Cheat Shop now that it exists.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyMost people I know prefer the Weapon ranks actually, since it made it possible to at least attempt to use weapons outside the recommended and even the first tier could learn every skill of their chosen weapon eventually.
The new system, skill learning isn't automatic and costs mana, only weapons of the class's specialty can get skills at all outside reincarnation or the Chara World, and each tier can only learn so far up the skill list before having to reincarnate to a higher tier (and even that caps off for certain weapons before they reach the best move).
So, it's mixed.

Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.I didn't like having to grind weapon levels, but I didn't like having to spend mana on skills either. I'd prefer a modified version of the system that's neither.
Not much else to really use mana on, though.
Hey, everyone, uh, I'm playing Disgaea 2 on the PSP, and my Gaea Titan is in the thousands of levels, and has more than 8,000,000 hp and 675,000 attack, and I have one slot left in armor for something.
Should I give him something like an armor to boost defense and attack, or should I continue to boost his HP?
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.Your HP and defense don't matter. Get something to boost his offensive stats if you can or possibly his movement.
Odd, I thought they were going to do a poll first.
I'm a bit surprised that they are including several of the normally post game characters, such as Laharl, Axel, Zetta, Prier, heck, the main cast of past games in general as DLC. Who da fuck are we going to fight in the post game?
Also, the Celestial Host, a whole class is a limited time offer? Lame.
Like, I guess I can kinda get them being unable to work it into the main game for most games due to a purely angel class being out of place, but to just offer it as a limited time perk seems weird. Is the Celestial Host even popular enough to be an incentive?

Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.On one hand, holy wow that is a ton of characters per wave (also very glad to see that they're finally taking advantage of the "season pass" thing; should probably help mitigate port complaints as well).
On the other, I really have to echo the sentiment of wondering what the post-game for this is even supposed to be.

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyTink is the postgame.
Just Tink.
Anyone else try The Awakened Fate Ultimatum? I... didn't think highly of it.
