Read some stuff that the 7.62×54mmR was used on captured M1919 machine guns during the Vietnam War. Not sure if it's true since I can't find any claims, although I won't be surprised if they use them without converting them.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"I have doubts about that. The cartridges have different enough dimensions it would likely cause issues. Especially in terms of overall cartridge length which can lead to chronic misfeeds.
Who watches the watchmen?^ That. .30-06 != 7.62 Russian in dimensions by a noticeable margin. The .30-06 is 7.62x63mm in dimensions, not counting the rim that's a full 9mm longer of a cartridge than the 7.62 Russian.
Also, there were some old M1919's in Soviet service in WW 2, I think they ran on Lend-Lease .30-06 much to the Reds' chagrin.

Who watches the watchmen?I am Grot!
If you ever wanted to see how gas moves through a suppressor. You can see in the vid below and see how the shapes trap the gas and more or less help disperse the energy.
I have seen a picture of the modernized Rk 62, the AK copy that Finland uses. It looks like someone tried to crossbreed an AK and an AR but it went horribly wrong.

No, it's fine. Now world war II rifles made "tacticool" that's another story.

Sure are a lot of Taurus firearms in use in Brazil.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."Um, yeah? Taurus is Brazilian. That's like saying "Wow, there sure are a lot of Frenchmen in Paris!"

We use whatever we can get our hands on, including apprehended contraband.

I wonder what would happen if you replaced someone's ring tone with the report.
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotHoly muzzle flash powered flood lamps.
Who watches the watchmen? So, something I noticed in Fallout: New Vegas is they classify the flamethrower as an energy weapon. Could flamethrowers actually be considered energy weapons? If not, they are certainly the closest thing we have to energy weapons in real life right now, as they don't fire solid projectiles unlike other firearms, instead creating and firing thermal energy (fire) by igniting fuel from the tank.

Technically speaking they are indeed chemical energy weapons, yes.
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotAnd just like other/fictional energy weapons, they also fell victim to Kinetic Weapons Are Just Better once incendiary grenades and rockets became a thing.

...that's not how that trope in question works. What you mentioned are merely longer ranged flamethrowers, given that their main method of action is still combustion.
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotAh, my mistake.
Maybe for man-portables. Directed energy weapons are already a thing in reality. Weaponized lasers are coming into practice (one already serves on a US Navy ship) and non-lethal energy weapons exist but they are both vehicle/aircraft/building/ship mounted.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."Technology marches on... slowly. I suppose we'll have to settle for a Ghostbusters proton pack before we can get Han Solo's quick-draw blaster.
This Space Intentionally Left Blank.Speaking of quick draws. I had a random idea about handguns.
What if we took the bullet of a .50 BMG and matched it with a 12.7mm casing for a handgun? What kind of performance in anything could we get? Say out of a 4-5 inch barreled sidearm with a maximum velocity of say 350 m/s if possible.
I also wondered the possibility of doing the same for 5.56mm and 7.62x51. The whole thing was borne of a What If? caused by thinking about the 8mm Ribeyrolles cartridge from 1918 and how they used a regular 8mm Lebel bullet but fit it in a different casing (modified .351 SL in that case) and thought of making it for pistols.
Just a curiosity.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."There really wouldn't be any point in firing a long, pointed, spitzer-type rifle bullet out of a short-barreled handgun, because it wouldn't have the range necessary to benefit from the improved aerodynamics, nor the velocity to achiever greater penetration.
A .50 BMG bullet weighs 700 grains (45 grams) in a standard FMJ configuration. Out of an M2 heavy machine gun with a 45 inch barrel (1,143 mm), it has a muzzle velocity of 2,978 feet per second (908 meters/second).
The heaviest bullet load available for the .500 S&W Magnum is 500 grains (32 g), which achieves 1,425 fps (434 m/s) out of a 10.5 inch barrel (267 mm), while the lightest is a 300 grain (19 g) at 2,075 fps (632 m/s).
You do the math.
