- People announcing their departure or return.
- Moderators announcing a significant forum ban — not trolls or vandals, but someone people will notice and miss.
- Inquiries about an absent troper.
- Responses to inquiries about an absent troper.

Goddamn. I've had plenty of disagreements with Ambar, but I always saw him as one of the more rational tropers around OTC, even if a bit confrontational. Luigisan, I think some of your optimism would be good, just try not to overdo it, if I remember why you left correctly.

Fuck, I honestly wish this hadn't happened. Ambar was legitimately very well-versed in politics and history, and always very upfront.

Forum-banned from what I can tell. The moderation noted he could appeal in the actual Edit/Banned thread(though they were unlikely to accept an appeal), but I could have misunderstood it?
I'm surprised but also not surprised to hear about Ambar. Surprised because he was around for awhile and seemed pretty knowledgeable, but not surprised because he was always pretty upfront and sometimes overly confrontational, and it seems that's what the issue was.
@Irene: Yes, Ambar can still post in the appeals thread. Whether they will and whether we'd accept an appeal are different kettles of fish, though.
