It says something about Kaworu that the end-of-chapter sentence questioning whether Fate's a love rival for Negi isn't yaoi enough.
Truthfully I did not like Negi's last statement after "Tyrannosaurs Rex" myself. It just didn't sound like a threat he'd make unless I were to say he's been taking lessons from Evangeline and was just trying to sound threatening, but I don't like just leaving it at "Tyrannosaurus Rex" either because it feels unfinished. Negi brought it out for emphasis, but it doesn't feel I'm properly giving that message without some additional clarification in some form. Perhaps describe the transformation of Negi's arm from shadowy tendrils into a T-Rex Head? Like mention the eyes (multiple ones) staring hungrily at everything as drool drips from the mouth (with a mention of the dagger like teeth as well) before having the people in the room identify that yes they're staring at a T-Rex head growing out of Negi's arm like BW Megatron.

Whatever Konoemon was about to say was cut off by what Negi said next:
“I have seen lives of where he apparently verbally broke several of them emotionally for his own personal amusement, just because he was bored.” Negi’s left eye twitched erratically, indicating barely suppressed raged.
“Several times it did not end well. I can still see the blood.”
The implications of this statement hung in the air and whatever Konoemon was about to say died in his throat. To say that by this point the rest of the room was eyeing Fate rather coldly was an understatement. The cold was actually going all the other way around and coming back hot. It was an incredible display of willpower on Asuna's part that she didn't just whip out her artifact and bisect Fate right there.
“There were really two constants about my life, one: I was a teacher of Class 3-A and two: they were always there to support me. It is only proper I return the favor.” Negi gave everyone in the room a look.
“Understand this: those girls? They. Are. Mine.”
The fact that these two constants were only the only things that help keep him sane (both internally as something to latch onto and externally by the girls’ own actions once they understood the situation) under the storm of memories, feelings, and conflicting viewpoints his countless mirrored lives came with when the Mahora Tree shoved them all into his head went unsaid.
“If anything should happen to them I will devour the ones responsible and just to get the point across.” Negi turns to stare at Fate and held out his right arm which immediately grew black as the symbol for magia erebia showed brightly before Negi’s arm bulged outward and tore apart into several black tendrils before coming back together into a new shape at first everyone thought it was a massive claw out of proportion to the rest of the body like a pistol shrimp. However that changed when they saw the eyes, eyes that looked hungrily at everyone in the room, seeing them all as little more then piles of meat, serrated teeth glinted in the light as drool dripped to the floor from the massive open maw that formerly had been Negi’s arm, now it was the head of the Tyrannosaurs Rex.

Somewhat, but it still bugs me a bit. I shall ruminate on this further as I continue working on that Power Rangers crossover I started three years ago.
My, Shinobu's gotten older. And drawn by, or just written by? Because that artwork looks very Akamatsu. Unless this guy was one of Akamatsu's assistants and can do the style.

Pretty sure its Akamatsu, or at least that image is. He moved to 100% CGI and with...when was the last time we saw anything LH related? Three or four years ago? Anyway, with that it does look a little different.
Or not. Given Akamatsu's current drive, I have no idea if he's involved in any capacity. That image certainly looks like his stuff though. If it isn't him, colored me impressed.

I've seen images of the interiors in 4chan, and they look very different, so it seems that promo image was indeed drawn by Akamatsu.

Update: Okay, I looked at the whole Chinese scans now. It lacks Mutsumi, so it's automatic fail, but still, I'm so desperate for more Negima I'd even take more material by this guy as long as it features 3-A.

This is the second post-series oneshot that lacks Mutsumi. Obviously, her absence is further proof Kodansha and Akamatsu have abandoned the path of goodness, or else they'd embrace the light and warmth that is Mutsumi. Pitiful lost souls.
