All I can say about this chapter is: HOLY CRAP. Tezca has been killed off, and Nygus, Sid, Marie, and Stein are semi-mortally wounded. At least Kid is back. YAY! Although I'm a bit annoyed that the Thompson sisters weren't able to help and just had to sit back, I now have a new respect for Black Star. Can't wait for the next chapter~!
...but if they used potatoes, that's another thing entirely!
I actually think that Marie might have been killed, based on Justin's little 'Oh God' reflective page there...

Maybe I'm a cynic, but I think everyone's alive. Even Tezca. Probably using some mirror power.
Tezca is probably dead (never a major character to begin with), but I expect everyone else to live. They've been too well established to go down that easily.

He hasn't gotten a real fight scene with his monkey yet though. Overall, none of the "deaths" were given enough dramatic screentime for me to take them seriously.

Yeah, almost all other adult introduced and somehow related to the main cast resulted either dead (Sid, Joe), evil (Justin), crazy or a witch. So Tesla is probably dead.

Does Black Star still have weaknesses at this point? It seems like he's basically overcome the HeroicRROD effects of his Enchanted Sword Mode, and now that he focuses on Casting a Shadow instead of ninja techniques, his lack of stealth is irrelevant.
