They had to get rid of the Jedi first, of course, and it was deemed by Palaptine, Darth Sidious, that using their own soldiers is the way. Some, however, survived the Purge, such as my father, Kento Marek, who was hidden by the Wookiees on Kashyyyk, or General Kota, who didn't trust the clones in the first place. It wasn't a stupid act - far from it. Sidious was secretly controlling the Confederation of Independent Systems as well, and sent his newly christened apprentice, my erstwhile master Darth Vader to behead the Separatists, as they have outlived their usefulness."

"Ah. Makes sense if you're evil."

"Or steeped in the Dark Side." Agreed Galen.

""The Dark Side Clouds Your Mind" indeed."

"Most certainly yes." Galen said, and shuddered. "I have felt it."

Just hearing the word Purge made Hope's blood run cold.

Kimimaro visibly twitched upon hearing "purge" as well, remembering the Bloodline Purges enacted during the mind-controlled Fourth Mizukage's reign.

Rey got up from where he had been sitting, walking around the room, apparently carefully prodding at the walls here and there as he went. He glanced up towards the ceiling a few times, apparently searching.

Gordon put the finishing touches on his revised blueprint, then looked up at the soon-to-be activated PHANTOM. He disliked saying this, considering what the stationary transformer had tried to do last time, but he needed the AI to run simulations for him. If they didn't do tests like that... testing the complete version could result in all kinds of truly horrible mishaps. A Resonance Cascade was just one of them. This design needed some testing before they built and activated the real deal.

Blink turned a crystal over in her hands as she sat at the table. It was much like the previous crystal, the one she'd folded into a flower to give to Yuuka. However... she wasn't sure if either Naoto or Subaru would like a crystal sculpture. She had a few other items out on the table, one that looked remarkably like a gun, and was looking them over carefully.

Rey wandered over to where Blink was, sitting down, seeming to be fiddling with his eyes slightly. "Hey, Blink. What're you working on?"

Blink jumped, and suddenly scrambled to collect all of the various items under her coat. "N-nothing! I'm j-just... looking at some stuff!"

After a brief pause, she blinked and realized it was Rey who had asked. "Oh... err... just... trying to figure out what would be good presents for Miss Shirogane or Miss Subaru!"

"Oh yeah? You're a sweet girl, Blink. What were you thinking of giving them?" As he spoke, Rey apparently poked himself lightly in the eye, but after just a second, removed his fingers, and the offending eye, normally a shade of blue so light as to appear white, was nearly black. He frowned at his fingertip, on which a contact was resting, and called up a small vial next to him, lifting it and examining it, then placing the contact in the vial and starting to swirl it around slightly.

"Well, I was trying to decide," Blink replied, not noticing what Rey was doing as she laid the various items back out onto the table. "I was thinking of making a crystal sculpture, but I wasn't really sure about that. I also got this, because since N Miss Shirogane has a gun I figured she might like this!"

She pulled out the aforementioned gunlike item. It was slate-gray, and very boxy and geometric, with a thin gape running from the barrel almost all the way to the back. "It's a..."

Blink caught sight of what had happened to Rey's eye. "What happened to your eye, Rey-rey?"

"What? Oh." He held up the vial again. "Cleaning my contact. It's bothering me, probably got dirty somewhere." He considered. "You've seen contacts before, haven't you?"

Blink shook her head. "Err... no. Are they like some kinda second eye lense or something like that? I know people who use mini-magnifier disc thingies that they put in their eyes!"

Mason saw Rey and the contacts.
"Wow. Those must be expensive."

There was the sound of a crashing box and startled chickens as Vezon zipped over. "Magnifier in your eyes? Why would you want that? Granted, it's cool, but you don't seem like the 'sniper' type to me."

"They're...really they're just for vision improvement. Like Gordon's glasses, except these go in my eyes. I have these to change my eye color just...well, just because they looked cool. I mean, I'm...fairly wealthy so it wasn't too hard to get them. I've got a slew of different ones in my bag in my room..."

"Oh!" Blink nodded, understanding. "Now that I think about it, we probably do have those. I just never really thought about 'em because the ones that magnify your vision and let you see stuff in infared are soooo much cooler!"

She thought for a moment, then remembered what she was doing. "Oh oh oh! I was gonna tell you what this is!"

She held the gun up again. "It's called a rail pistol! I don't really know everything about it, but it uses electromagnetic stuff to fire really heavy projectiles! One of my friends told me that they're hard to use 'cause they're really strong."

"A rail pistol? Huh. It sounds like...well. That is a pretty neat little thing. I think either Subaru or Naoto would like it." He smiled some, nodding.

"Yeah, I was thinking of giving it to Miss Shirogane," Blink replied, turning the rail pistol over. "Since she has a gun and I think this'd be a cool gun to give her."

"I bet it would be...and she could lay out some pretty heavy damage with it, I bet." He finished cleaning the contact, carefully pouring the vial enough to retrieve it and placing it back into his eye, blinking a little until it had settled into place. "Yeah, that's much better. Damn, that's a lot more convenient than having to carry around a bunch of cleaning solution."

"Sooo, you get contacts to help with your vision... and Gordon gets that tiny mask instead 'cause he's poorer than dirt, did I get that right?"

"Uhh...I really don't know anything about Gordon's financial situation. He might just like glasses better, you'd have to ask him. I just use contacts because it's kind of hard to wrestle with glasses on, and if I have to have them, I might as well make them look interesting."

"They only thing I'm worried about is that she might hurt her arm," Blink added. "Because... Well, can you fire it and see? I've never used a gun before, and I've seen you use 'em a couple times!"
