A Game of Gods: A Multiversal Challenge

The Doctor starts cutting random ropes while making ape noises for some reason.

When Vox retconned several pages back, I'll take advantage of ot and retcon Lux out of the challenge. Meh.

Lux had taken a significant amount of time building and constructing her new weapon, she hand't noticed the portal open and the majority of the room leave. She found herself in the company of Cain and Subaru among a few others. She took advantage of the lack of people in the room to start training with it.

Blink and Galen later re-appeared, apparently being ejected from the challenge somehow. She walked up to Galen and flourished her staff. "Do you wish to look it over? And if we turned down the intensity on these, could you perhaps teach me the basics of their use? Light sparring, maybe?"

Rey felt the ropes around him get cut, but didn't try to get up, just staying huddled where he was, refusing to open his eyes.

-Earlier-

Red Mage had wandered about the Common Room, looking carefully at the foreign objects about it, some whose use he could only fathom. He dared not touch it, surmising that whatever these are could be dangerous and magical. He saw the magical box displaying a picture of something, watching in on some even stranger group of characters than the room. He quickly jerked his head away, such a magical device could be a trap. He wandered into a hallway with many doors..

-Now-

Red Mage was about to try one and see what happens, when he started hearing voices coming from the room he'd just left. RM tried to unsheath his sword quietly and move silently against the wall. This place could be dangerous, or I could get in trouble with local customs for brandishing my weapon.

Samara had been beating the living shit out of the apes left and right, showing no mercy. After that, she finally calmed down enough to stop hitting everything in sight, and her voice returned to normal.

Cue the music ending.

"Nice work kid," Dex-Starr said to Samara. "MY TURN!!!" The cat then flew into the gorilla hoard to defeat as many as possibly remained.

Not content to give up, Vezon unleashed a rapid fire barrage of shadow blasts at Dex-Starr and the heroes.

Okay, now I sleep.

Spriggan tried to free himself from his restraints, feeling some change overwhelming him.

"This better not be permanent."

Samara nodded her thanks to Dex-Starr, helping him mop up the last few gorillas that were still standing.

Gray had been hit by a random Dizzy Beam^TM and captured by the gorillas.

He was sleeping in his bundle of rope, but the fight had woken him up. And he was ticked.

"Oh come on! Almost every time a fight happens, I end up missing it! Am I just supposed to be a hanger-on or something?!?!?!?"

After all the apes were dead- er, I mean defeated, Samara went to work on Gray's ropes. Not having much success, she said "I need some help with Gray, Dex-Starr."

"Awesomeness!"

Spriggan shouted, praising Samara's work. "Now I need to reach my karambit placed in my tac vest..."

The Brain, master of the mental arts had been disintigrated by one of the ape-men's spears. Raz reappeared in the hallway of the Common Room, a few feet away from Red Mage. "Hey, Shakespeare. Wanna' put the sword away?"

Dex-Starr padded over to Gray and held out his paw. His claws came out. *CHING* Red energy erupt, covering the claws and creating construct metal claws. *RIP* Dex-Starr promptly sliced through the bindings like butter.

Rey turned his head slightly towards the sounds, keeping his eyes tightly closed. "Esta...donde esta...tu eres?"

Gray stood up, free from his bindings (for now, at least). Surprisingly, the gorillas were dumb enough to let him keep his gear.

He said a quick "Thanks." to Dex-Starr after checking his gear.

Behind me! Red Mage swung his head and brought his sword up in front of him to defend himself. When turned and ready to defend himself, he saw.. a child. No more than 10, 11 years old.. and that outfit makes him look like he worked with Airships. Who knew that fashion caught on. Red Mage frowned and sheathed his Sword. No point in fighting a kid. "Ah, hello young one." Red Mage gestured to the place around him. "Do you know where this is?"

Spriggan was busy reaching for the karambit placed on the back of his tac vest.

"Dammit. Can't reach it."

Raz raised a brow. "Another new guy, huh? This," He gestured intop the room beyond. "is the Common Room. I'm Raz." The young Psychonaut extended a hand.

"'New One'." Red Mage extended his gloved hand back to shake Raz's hand. I wonder what he means, foreigners to this place must pop up at random often. Then again, who knows I might have landed myself in prison. "Name's Red Mage, Warrior of Light. I suppose I am a new person around here, mind showing me the place?"

"Warrior of Light, eh? I think we've got one or two of those around here." He led RM into the room. "Like I said, this is th Common Room. You can conjure anything you can think of while you're in here." He looked around. "Looks like some of the others got here before me. There's Blink, some kind of Jedi whos name I forget, Mason, some other blue-haired girl, and Lux."

Red Mage looked over the room and the people that had suddenly filled it not minutes after he'd left it. They look like they might have been some of those on the magical picture. "Conjure things you say? Mmm, I guess here is the question I should ask. Why am I here? Are you all from this strange place?"

Raz pinched the bridge of his nose. He'd had to explain this how many times? He'd lost count. "You've been called here by a group of omnipotent space gods called the Nomads to compete in a series of bizarre and deadly challenges. We've all be brought here from our home universes for the same purpose. That enough for you?"

That's ludicrous enough to work. I'll play along for now, whats the worst this child could do to trick me? I wonder what he means by Deadly challenges. "Its good enough, being pulled out of non-existence by some otherworld Gods does explain a lot." Red Mage looked around at the others and decided to continue with the tour. "Your voice shows you've done this before too many times. But, would you help finish the tour for this poor Mage?"

"Yeah. First it was with Mason and Samara, then jack, then Cain, then Grayson. It's kind of tireing. But anyways." He walked over to the TV. "This is... where the monitor bank was. But appearently someone turned it into a TV. Oh well. TH]his is where you can watch challenges from the Common Room. Right now, they're doing a challenge based on comic books."
