Music to drive dangerously into a tree by?
My vote goes for practically anything by Kraan. Especially the live album.
No mention of the greatest driving song of all time?
I reckon the dialogue sample was the guitar solo of the nineties. Instead of showing off your instrumental prowess, it demonstrated your knowledge of esoteric pop culture. And if anything was the major hobby of the decade, esoteric pop culture was it.

Aww, did I hurt your widdle fee-fees?Kazzer's Fueled By Adrenaline would probably work, espcially the whole song is about either illegal street racing or getting away from the cops.
"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-WraithAh I do this, albeit in a more general way. A few suggestions..
- Sugar Ray - Mean Machine / Speed Home California / RPM
- The Presidents Of The United States Of America - Mach 5
- The Offspring - Bad Habit
- Little Hell - Hands Up Mother Fucker (worth it if you can find it)
- Polyanna - FordGreenSilverRocket
- The Cardigans - Favourite Game *
- Viva Voce - Faster Than A Dead Horse
- Less Than Jake - Sugar In Your Gas Tank
- Spoon - Idiot Driver
- Howling Bells - Highway 99
- One Lady Owner - Wheelkings 1973
Oh yeah, also:
Rebel Yell by Billy Idol.
According to a comment on cracked, it's responsible for more reckless driving than dropped cigarettes and Nyquil combined.
So many good songs for this. For starters, the Cat Empire's "The Car Song" - it's kinda rare to hear the Empire in full-blown rocker mode, but when they rock, they rock:
- Pendulum's "Fasten Your Seatbelts". To be played loud and to annoy pedestrians. I would really like to see this one in a racing game.
- Dizzee Rascal's "Road Rage" - with emphasis on the "dangerously".
- Radiohead's "Airbag", for something a little darker and more introspective.
- Slash's "Baby Can't Drive".
- The Clash's "Brand New Cadillac".
- Gorillaz's "M1 A1" - slow intro, but imagine how awesome it would feel when those drums kick in.
- Porcupine Tree's "Open Car".
- Richard Thompson's "1952 Vincent Black Lightning", because acoustic music needs love too, as do motorcycles.
- And on that note, Joe Satriani's "Motorcycle Driver", instrumental though it may be.
- Joe Satriani's "Can't Slow Down".
- AC/DC's "Highway to Hell".
- And going to throw in the Beastie Boys' "No Sleep till Brooklyn", which is actually about touring but would make an awesome addition to a racing game anyway.

You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat!Damn, beat me to "Jesus Built My Hotrod". I thought it would take a much shorter time for it to get listed, though.

This song's stuck in my head right now, but you gotta admit, it's a great song to get speeding tickets to:
The only objective answer. Top Gear decided it.

If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~It's been a long cherished dream of mine to drive along the Pacific Coast Highway while blasting out Helter Skelter.
Eurobeat. That is all.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.
What are some good songs about cars or driving, and wouldn't be out of place in a racing game? Off the top of my head:
"I Can't Drive 55" — Sammy Hagar
"Drive My Car" — The Beatles
"Heading Out To The Highway" — Judas Priest
"Highway Star" — Deep Purple
"Layin' Rubber" — Kix
What can you come up with?
