Also, this one from the same guys. Breaking Benjamin in SPACE!
Good bands, all.

I thought I only liked White Pony, Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan, but just recently the rest of their stuff has started making sense to me.
Anyway, my dad had Adrenaline years and years ago, but when I gave it a shot back then I thought it was a bit rubbish. I was wrong. It's pretty awesome.
The Deftones albums are all great, IMO. The earlier stuff's more punishing, and the later stuff's more ambitious, so which you like more depends on which of those descriptors appeal to you more. They're both good with me.
Also, anyone else here like Quicksand, Therapy? or Helmet? I know Quicksand and Helmet also qualif as Post-Hardcore, but they're still heavy enough to be Alt-Metal, so they count...

Thought I should post here just in case there were any fans nearby.

I've been very interested to see how they react to Jordison leaving and whatever tensions may exist between Jim Root and Corey Taylor after Root was fired from Stone Sour.
Interesting enough, I s'pose...
My question still stands...

Damn good shit. The early-ish stuff's my favorite, personally...
Big Helmet fan, too, especially Meantime. What an album...

So, anyone like 55 Escape? Now that Ill Niño finally swerved to metalcore, seems like 55 Escape is the last nu metal band remaining, along with Sevendust... And even 7D might not apply much to the "nu-metal" label.
A promising beginning, then the "on my knees" and "begging please" cliché hit me with a gut punch and the fantastically silly line "I AM FALLING DOWN THE STAIRS" finished me off with a lethal attack of the giggles.
Sorry.

Funny, those clichés just make me feel at home
No regret shall pass over the threshold!Helmet are pretty awesome, aren't they?
Anyways, I liked that song. I'm assuming there's some humor at work, cause it's generally better to be funny on purpose than by accident...

Resurrected this one from my teenage years. Or maybe my early 20s.
YES. FUCKING Prong. Awesome band, especially Prove You Wrong, Cleansing and Rude Awakening- those are Alternative Metal classics...

Yeah it popped up on the last page and we were more than happy to include it
And speaking of proggy alt-metal...
Question: Is there a distinction between Alt Metal and Nu Metal?
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Yeah. If it's a good song, it's not Nu Metal.

Seriously though, there's quite a lot of crossover and grey area between the two. Helpful, isn't it?

Last three posts:
Hehe, that joke's overdone, but still funny...
Anyways, in all seriousness though, Nu Metal is often considered either a subgenre or an offshoot of Alternative Metal. Does that help in any way?
Also, some good tunes above.
Anybody here like some of the more mainstream-y bands in the genre, i.e. Chevelle, Godsmack or Sevendust? Personally, I do, but I freely admit that they're not very groundbreaking or whatever...
If at first ya don't succeed, try a bit more, then give up or cheat... ;) -Myself Nothing can stop me now! -Piggy by Nine Inch NailsI love Godsmack's first album. Utterly derivative but still loads of fun. Other than that, they have good songs scattered here and there in their catalogue. Faceless is pretty strong too. From what I've heard of the new album though, it sucks.
I had written Chevelle off as another Tool wannabe... then I heard Face to The Floor! What a song! It's like Maynard fronted Audioslave instead of Cornell. Love the groove and bounce it has. That whole album is good, though I haven't checked out anything else really. Can't get into Sevendust at all, they're pretty bland to me.
Other than that, the mainstream ones can be good, but mostly seem to have lasted only one album based around one strong single. 32 Leaves had "All is Numb", for example.
Flaw were a good one. Their album "Endangered Species" moved more towards straight up Alt. Metal than Nu-Metal/Rapcore and it had some great songs on it like "Medicate", "Endangered Species", "Worlds Divide" and "Not Enough".

All the bands I listed are derivative, IMO, but they're all pretty good- though some records are better than others, in all cases...
Haven't really listened to Flaw before, they sounds pretty good.

Just ignore the narmy "silly boy" bit... reminds me of something the fruity character with the cravat would say in any terrible 70s British sex comedy.
