My guess is that it's not amnesia but some sort of mental programming ala The Manchurian Candidate.

oooh. they have shown that their reality isn't quite our reality ( the time travel episode...)
Got a degree in Emotional trauma via fictional characters aka creative writing. hosting S'mores party in Hell for fellow (evil) writersWell, to be fair they never actually showed anything. They just strongly suggested it by making him disappear in the end.
The stain after Beckett spilled coffee on that bit of evidence was exactly the same as on that photo Morgantime travel guy had. Him vanishing on Castle could be explained, but that probably can't.

(He will always be Morgan to me. And yeah, that's what I was talking about.)
I'm excited and nervous to see where this leads. also, I hope we see more of Alexis soon. I always liked her.
Got a degree in Emotional trauma via fictional characters aka creative writing. hosting S'mores party in Hell for fellow (evil) writersI'm still hoping for a Lower-Deck Episode.
Basically, Castle and Beckett are on vacation, so Espo and Ryan need to solve a murder...and since they can't tap Castle for his phantasy, they go to the source: Martha.

"You can reply to this Message!"Seems like he got that DeMorgan fixed up, huh? :P
I like this idea.
that would be fantastic.
Got a degree in Emotional trauma via fictional characters aka creative writing. hosting S'mores party in Hell for fellow (evil) writersOh fuck, I didn't realize the new season started already.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Heh, it just now occurred to me that this new story arc concerning Castle's mysterious disappearance is likely an homage to Agatha Christie's mysterious disappearance (except she was only missing for two weeks, while Castle was gone for two months).
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationI hadn't thought of that.
this next episode looks promising. I'm sure it will end with 'no it was all fake...or was it?'
seriously, there have always been these...odd things. the letter the psychic wrote to herself. Morgan the time traveler and his coffee stained letter. the kid who used 'magnets' to fake his friend having powers, only without magnets. I really like this Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane /mostly mundane but maybe magic universe.
Got a degree in Emotional trauma via fictional characters aka creative writing. hosting S'mores party in Hell for fellow (evil) writersWhat will end? The episode, or the series?
the episode. sorry, I'm not very clear. the preview made it look like another someone with superpowers is doing crime! episode.
Got a degree in Emotional trauma via fictional characters aka creative writing. hosting S'mores party in Hell for fellow (evil) writersWell that was straight up sci-fi.
And if I claim to be a wise man, well, it surely means that I don't know.yes, yes it was. I liked it though.
Got a degree in Emotional trauma via fictional characters aka creative writing. hosting S'mores party in Hell for fellow (evil) writersIt was a good episode. I think they wanted a break from the straight up drama of the amnesia arc. Plus it was nice seeing Castle and Beckett wanting to make up for lost time.
I think the rule of thumb for whether something Out There is real in this show comes down to whether it's supernatural or tech related. If it's supernatural, no, it ain't real. If it can be done with the right technology, you'll probably see some evidence if it isn't outright vindicated. First the time traveler, and now cloaking tech. The reason they didn't have a real time traveling killer from the past is probably because someone from the distant past couldn't have a time machine. Someone from the future possibly could.

I had a huge grin on my face when Castle took the fire extinguisher and used it to look for the woman in the suit. It reminded me of spychecking in Team Fortress 2. I do feel like the episodes are getting too far into the "unbelievable" territory, though.
Cloaking is only science fiction for the moment. The military's already working on it, and things like Cuttlefish do change color fast. It's plausible they'd be helpful in making camouflage gear.
What if they already have the tech. Would we ever know it?

So, can we say the show is attempting to follow Clarke's Third Law?
It feels like it was originally a "real" take on The X Files (real in that they weren't actually aliens or vampires), but as time continues it's moving more towards full blown Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane, with a few traces of actual science fiction to confuse the pot. It'll be interesting to see where this ends up if the trend continues.
And if I claim to be a wise man, well, it surely means that I don't know. That's probably correct.
I've been watching the X-files recently, and that was on my mind for most of this episode.
Wow, I'm surprised nobody's commented on the latest episodes yet. I mean, come on guys. 3XK's back! I know he's been done to death, so I'm hoping this is to tie up loose ends and make him deader than dead finally. Not like we saw the body last time.
honestly, I know why they did it, but amnesia is my least favorite plot twist/device. I hope hs memory comes back soon, at least some of it.
