All right, well...
Female. New Jersey (Yes, I'm serious). In college. Studying math. I'm an Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette with Nerd Glasses, both of which earned me unwelcome nicknames in high school. People seem to link the math bit with the glasses bit and I get a lot of Smart People Wear Glasses, as well. I can also be something of a snarker, and I naturally tend toward Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness. Not to sound smart. I just talk that way. And I like cats. A lot. I can be something of a Grammar Nazi/Spelling Nazi.
I am a hopeless nerd, as most on this site are. The same is true of the rest of my family as well, though they are loathe to admit it. My sister will freely admit to geeky interests, but never to totally being a geek, and, despite being biologists and Star Trek fans, my parents were raised in an era when the word "nerd" was purely an insult (in addition, my dad makes extra money on the side off of comic books and my mom was an original Monty Python fan). I guess there was no hope for me.
