Star Driver Kagayaki no Takuto

I dont know Star Driver doesn't seem that strange for a Sci-Fi anime I mean look at Star Trek......

Star Trek is about a trek through the stars. On the other hand, I don't believe it's possible to drive a star. Also, this series appears to be more fantasy than sci-fi.

^Maybe you could in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, but that's about it.

The pacing in this episode is ing me. Once the masks showed up, it felt like some very important exposition was left out.

I think a re-cap is in order so we can have a better foundation for our s.

We'll probably be getting the exposition in the next episode. They rushed things in this one for the sake of the first episode being cool enough to draw viewers.

I'm not expecting much exposition anytime soon. This kind of show thrives on keeping things mysterious for as long as possible. They'll be some, certainly, but if you're waiting for everything to suddenly make sense I wouldn't keep my fingers crossed.

Oh. Thanks. It's been a while since I came across the full background of that meme, so I kinda got lost.

Back on topic, the overall flamboyance of this show is kinda refreshing when I have been assaulted with endless shows that harp on subtlety and SIRIUSNYS.

Just watched it. Felt like the version I saw was missing a chunk from the first half, but what remained was... fabulous.

The question is whether or not it will be more fabulous than Code Geass.

Which, considering that Transformation Sequence, isn't really in question at all (The hip swaying. THE HIP SWAYING!)

I think I'm going to like this main character guy. He's like a Hot-Blooded, readheaded version of Masaomi Kida — you know, without the massive guilt issues.

Actually, the whole thing reminded me a bit of RahXephon. Except FABULOUS!

You know what would really be fun? If he turns out to be a perfectly reasonable Nice Guy. Everyone in town already seems to be in on the Clown Shoes Conspiracy - let's shake things up a little, do the unexpected.

Plus, our boy really needs a Lancer.

^ True (not only the above, but I'd rather the ED stay kinda adorable and not dissonantly tragic). It's just... It's Two Guys and a Girl, both dudes have some sort of romantic interest in the chick, and at least two of the Three Amigos have some sort of special Chosen One status. That never ends well.
