What interesting things have you only recently learned about?
To be clear, this is about things which have been true for some time and you only recently learned about, not things that only happened recently. In particular, recent deaths of celebrities and other high-profile individuals should go in the General RIP Thread.
So, what interesting things have you guys...and gals...only recently learned about?

I had to look them up, too: a golfer and a baseball player, respectively. Palmer was a legend, apparently, and Fernandez a star. (I don't follow either sport so I wouldn't know.)

Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur.I don't follow sports, but Fernandez was only 24 years old and died in a boating accident. That's pretty friggin' awful.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Apparently, some universities put a cap on the number of Asian enrollees due to the possibility of 'em stealing most of the slots. Dude.
ACCOUNT NO LONGER USED. *straps on jetpack*In political theory, the fact that every year we hope for a flat or increase in NASA's budget is atypical. :'(
Brenda Chapman is married to Kevin Lima (A Goofy Movie, Tarzan, Enchanted).
After Brave, Chapman said the most valuable thing she learned is to "never give studios your ideas again. If you work on another major film, make sure you're in control of everything."
What ideas did Disney steal from her?
They .... well you know the production story of Brave already. Nothing was exactly "stolen" though.
Actually I don't. I know it was originally going to have a better title : "The Bear and the Bow"
Today is World Tourism Day.
Ilynne: "… Sidney… that gasmask of hers… why does she wear it…? And… why… why is there no… violet text color…?"Friday is Podcast Day!
Ranch flavored Fritos are a thing.
I kind of want to try that....
Dan Brown wrote a Contact rip off.
Isn't everything he's written a rip-off?
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur. What's up with the production story of Brave?
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!Yeah, I'm curious as to the production of Brave too.
As for the topic itself, I actually didn't know that Matthew Mercer voiced McCree until I found out that he trolls other players by saying "IT'S HIIIIIGH NOOOON" over the voicechat. Me and my friend Sparky love the guy, so I'm kinda surprised I never found out.

I've heard that Ratatouille also had a Troubled Production as well, but I don't know the details.
Peace is the only battle worth waging.Something about them replacing the director. It's usually a standard Pixar process often times (like with Ratatouille), but if I understand it right, the example with Brave had a bit more conflict to it.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Pepe the Frog is a hate symbol.
Peace is the only battle worth waging.Ratatouille was directed by Jan Pinkava, who directed the short Gerty's Game, until he was replaced by Brad Bird. This earlier version of the movie had a vastly different plot but with the same key premises. Notably, it depicted the rats as more anthropomorphic and cartoony, and Chef Gausteuv was still alive.
What about Brave?
Peace is the only battle worth waging. The first female director at Pixar was replaced by a male director, along with a major story change.
x? I am just a bit surprised. The Langdonverse always strive to return to status quo.
May I ask what the major story change entailed?
Peace is the only battle worth waging.Adventure Time will be ending in two years.
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"
